@SI, what else was I gonna do this winter?
He is a shoe in but had back strain and missed last trial

Not a bad shout at all and he was in my drafts for a short time, was looking like a different player in the trials and can see him improving and making cash over the season. I just worry that he seems to misfire against the stronger teams and has Roosters, Storm and Raiders in the first 5 rounds.
Burns is in many teams here, including mine.Dttragic2016 wrote:Rather than post my team up I thought I'd ask if anyone could talk me out of my two picks that aren't so common on here.
Burns and Tapine.
Burns - good numbers barring injury and I'm excited about that left edge with walker murray burns and Graham.
Tapine - good numbers when having a secure starting spot. No Bateman for the first 5+ rounds so he'll have that. Plus raiders good early draw.

Tapine scores better as 80 min 2RF, than he does as starting lock.

Also I finally fitted in both Taumalolo & Haas in my team but there is a trade off...3 of my 4 positions in my npr's are 228k props (Rudolf, Koloamangi, JTB) so that's not very good for cash generation because all 3 will be slow burns. Some would say it's a sign because I have zero in the bank.

Currently I only have Haas. I would really like to fit Taumalolo in, but that's all dependant on TLT. If a bottom dollar WFB/CTR is named to start (like Wiliame) I should be able to free up some cash.
Alternatively I can drop Dfifita to make way for Taumalolo, which I have considered. I'm not convinced Fifita is going have a huge upside, but with him having 39% ownership I feel it's better to join the crowd (it's the if you don't buy toilet paper now, you will miss out mentality.
I've got Haas, Friend, and Moses as my guns. Hoping that Haas won't get injured any time soon.

So we've had the Tulip, is Fifita the TP?

I max trade for a few weeks to pick up important cash cows and dump those that look like failing prospects. Then I try to take it easy and save my trades, focusing on first round bye players only (unless someone impossible to resist comes up like Rein when Peats got injured). Then I max trade between bye rounds trying to convert one bye heavy team into another.
Think I was ranked outside the top thousand pre-byes but ended up in the top 50 within the few rounds over the bye period. A 1000+ score in a bye week will really jump you some ranks.
Tl:dr- bye planning is still very much a thing despite the format change

Last year David Fifita averaged 45 in his first 7 starts at 2nd row (less than his 2020 price)
He then went on a massive run, scoring 4 tries in 5 weeks to average 73 to finish the season
Then he put up a 42 in the finals when the Broncos got smashed.
How much of that end of season form is going to continue into this year?
You'll have to take a punt on a bunch of players, and Fifita is as likely as any to go well, but I don't think he is a guaranteed gun
