Just flicking through the news, anyone else think that maybe the Bulldogs should have paid Tolman (220 games) a bit more respect rather than lumping him in with a bunch of journeymen and saying goodbye and good luck?

I agree clubs show no loyalty to players so why would players show loyalty to their club

“Moe is eligible for Queensland,” Walters said.
“I spoke to him last week and he has confirmed he wants to play for us.
“He has some strong cultural ties to Tonga and New Zealand but Moe has always been on my radar and I’m glad he is committed to play for the Maroons.”

That is HUGE News! Love it.
8. McGuire - Bit of roughness to put of some Blues
9. No Clue
10. Papalii - Big meter eater.
11. Kaufusi - Experienced head.
12. S'ua/Tino - if Fifita isn't fit. S'ua for some damaging defence and Tino for his attack
13. Carrigan - Holds down the middle
14. Utlity
15. Mo - Come on for some middle impact to keep the momentum
16. S'ua/Tino - See above
17. Arrow - Come on for Carrigan to do the same thing
18. Jwal/Collins/Napa - Bit of impact off the bench
Tell ya what. It won't be our forwards that let us down this year...

Payne Haas starting from the bench!
OKAY! So now I have your attention just hear me out.
Payne Haas off the bench. Not the craziest idea. Have something like Lodge and Flegler start up front. At 20 minutes bring Haas on for Flegler to play the last 20 of the first half and tell him to run hard! Then first 15 of the second half he is there to lay a platform to keep the momentum going in the second half. Then bring Flegler back on at the 55 minute mark and tell him to run as hard as he can for 10-15 minutes and then bring Haas back on for the last 10-15 to do the same thing.
14 would be turpin to come on for McCullough, 15 would Haas, 16 would be Ofa/Bullemor/Kennedy to swap in and out for Lodge/Carrigan and 17 would Hopa to cover the second rowers and spend some time in the middle.
I am not good with calculating minutes and stuff amongst the bench so not sure how it fits into other rotations but I reckon it could work.

Certainly a boost.
I think you have to punt on the attacking upside of Tino to provide that spark that DiFi would have - especially when the centre/wing options don't look that attractive.

Thoughts on Redcliffe as the next NRL side.

I heard if successful they have to change their name

Agree. Tino needs a run this year.

I've landed on DCE for this reason. Scrums are a great opportunity for forwards to rest while on the field, so less of them can only be good for the smaller players. More ball in hand should mean more kick metres and chance for attacking stats
I was looking at the safety of Cook but feel like going DCE too at the moment. Day game against the Warriors too, should see some great opportunities.

Floor is about 40 so won't be a disaster if it doesn't work out

Think it's more like 50 tbh. Only once below 40 all year, with 13/19 scores above 60. Pretty sure I'll go this way too.

Sorry can't leave this unchecked. To have a European name does not make you more or less Australian.

They probably have the best set up on paper.
Dont really like the location. Redcliffe has no room left for population growth, its basically cut off from "the mainland". I grew up there and.. yeah.. you either get out while youre young or are stuck there for life it seems. I guess that is just personal opinion and others may see it differently
Redcliffe leagues was one of the first places we would go out drinking as 18yr olds (kinda depressing really, hence get out of redcliffe), because the drinks were super cheap there, back then.
A lot has obvs changed in 20 years, but i thought they might find it tough to win over fan base that isnt local to redcliffe.
Hopefully they go well though.

They're going to play most games at Suncorp as well because they're own ground is only 11k. Identity seems like it would be a struggle. Definitely need another team in SE Qld (preferably Brisbane). Imagine Ch9 being able to show Brisbane clubs on Thursday AND Friday night every week - ratings gold.

Why ?
And you could do worse than Harry Grant as your 9.
EDIT: Just read the article, they don't have to, they want to in order to appeal to a wider fan base

Isnt tv ratings the driving force behind a 2nd brisbane team?

Yeah I imagine it would be. It will still aggravate a lot of people in NSW. But the numbers don't lie.
