He seems to make a million tackles regardless (12/17 games above 50 tackles this year, only once below 40). His big problem last week was season low run metres & tackle busts, and season high missed tackles.

Anyone backing him to bounce back?

    Storm probably still win mate.

He'll do better this week. Anyone up for a Lomax captain punt? Very Happy

What I don't understand is what will change.

They have Gold Coast but never show them on TV, even if they do well.

Are Ch9 suddenly going to start showing the Bombers/Dolphins/whoever instead of Brisbane?

Okay, I have narrowed down my leg choices for this week’s multi ladies and gentlemen.

Broncos vs Cowboys – Great Weather, New Rules

Broncos win, Arthars anytime, Under total points
Titans vs Knights – Good Weather
    Knights line, Pearce anytime
    Rabbits vs Roosters – Dewy
    Under total points
Bulldogs vs Panthers – Could be dewy, overall good weather
Panthers 13+, Capewell anytime, Panthers 1st hlf line
Sharks vs Raiders – Could be dewy, overall good weather
    Under total points, Sharks line
Tigers vs Eels – Good Weather
    Eels 13+, Sivo 2+ Tries
Warriors vs Manly – Good Weather, New Rules, Daytime game
Manly line, over total points, DCE anytime tryscorer
    Dragons vs Storm – Cloudy
    Storm win, Papenhuyzen anytime tryscorer.

Now to just pick a handful of those for my multi.

I can see a repeat of that Origin week clash a couple years ago, there will be points scored all over the place.

Based on that, I'm captaining my boy Papenhuyzen, he's been amazing ever since that Warriors game back in round 7 (37.3 avg in the 6 games before that, 56.9 avg in the 10 games he played after that), and is up against a very poor defensive side.

I'm no high roller but I'm liking a nice little multi of Panthers 13+, Sharks to win and Roosters - 5.5. Paying 4.23 on nz tab. The restings make it interesting this week, I like it. The panthers and Roosters still look strong but the raiders quite the opposite

    A few options.

Grant is inexperienced but his potential and dynamic style of play is worth the risk.

Hunt has proven himself a capable Origin level hooker but may be preferred as utility this year.

Friend has been in dreadful form this year but he is the most experienced option with 3 premierships to his name.

There's also Mahoney but I think he brings less to the table than the other options.

I only see 3 options at hooker depending on what you are looking for.

If you want the young up and comer (who is also a borderline top 5 hooker in the comp already) you go with Grant. Mahoney isn't in the same league, but has a similar downside of inexperience

If you want someone that has been there and done that before at origin level you go with Hunt. Also gives you a kicking option from hooker and someone that can fill in at half if someone goes down.

If you want someone with premiership experience that won't let you down defensively you go with Friend. Isn't as good in attack as Grant and isn't as good kicking as Hunt. To me this is the middle of the road option

Personally I'd go with Grant. At 22 years old Grant has another 10 years of origin in front of him. Friend and Hunt aren't setting the world on fire which makes it a borderline decision. If you are getting a similar performance from that spot I'd lean towards the future.

In my opinion Grant is already better than Friend and Hunt as a 9

Has to be. Unless CS9 comes out of rep retirement then Grant has to be there with Hunt on the bench to fill a utility roll/spell grant in the middle.

Fair point, but i suppose if the broncos get 10 friday night games and 6 thursday night games in a season then the 2nd brisbane team can get a big share of whats left.

I dont like it myself. I dont even like the Broncos playing as many thursday and friday games as they do. Much prefer attending suncorp on a weekend, especially if its day time footy.

The big advantage I can see is having a game played in Suncorp every single week. Footy heads would go to watch a neutral game, although wouldn't have as many as Broncos games

Tempted to switch from DCE to Cook as cappo. Scored 78 against the Chooks in round 2.

With the earlier Qld hooker discussion, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Mahoney is severely underrated. Has such a nice pass, provides Moses and DBrown so much time and space. Not saying he should be Qld hooker, but it amazes me he's generally not in the conversation, and if he is it's just to mention he's not really a contender.

But Grant and Friend have the ability to pass it forward without being noticed
