I'm leaning towards James Graham only because at the Dogs Parra game last year in Sydney, I ran down to the fence behind where he was warming down on the bike, yelled out to him and showed him the little figurine of himself and said I needed a photo with himself and the figurine! He yelled out he'd come over after the fulltime handshake. I didn't believe him. Sure enough, at full time he runs over straight towards me, bypassing a heap of fans and my mate ends up getting a video of it which now sits on my instagram. Legend.

I've been thinking about getting Dugan as my Gun in the centres as long as he's down to play as Fullback. It'll be interesting to see how the Dragons line up for round 1... I think they have a fair bit of depth in the forwards and the backs. Curious to see who will play where...
This was just my gun back team but still wanted the gun hooking combo to go with it, As you say i wouldn't have Dugan if he wasn't named FB either mate, all the talk is of Dugan shifting to CTR at his request with Mann FB, we shall see

Just type the name of the player you want. Spelling matters though.
Robbie Farrah didn't play a single game last year

I don't quite have the room at the moment. But that will change no doubt. Whilst it's fun making a team in Feb, realistically, until nines, trials and the team lists are produced 2 days prior to round 1, our teams will change dramatically.

Don't worry. I saw Chris Houston partying in Newcastle one night last season and had a good yarn to him, and that didn't convince me to bring him into my side.

I think it's still advantageous making teams and researching now, It cuts out those unwanted surprises that coaches always want to throw at us come tlt.CubanMafiaSandSlugs wrote:

the annoying thing is you can feel pretty settled on your side but then some news comes to light/a certain player becomes a priority. this then gives you an extra 100k to spend elsewhere and you shuffle another position. 20 mins later you have an entirely different 17

I always find that when some new info or hunch comes to light i end up swapping a player around get some extra $$ then refuse to upgrade certain mid rangers beacuse of the value i think they carry and don't have enough cash to turn cheapies into anything decent Its a vicious circle

Coote missing rd1 last year was shocker. I won't be making the mistake of thinking anyone is guaranteed to be named this year, that way I'll have done my research on every possibility.my tv broke wrote:

Is anyone actually playing Gutherson? If you trust his old form then it allows huge upgrades elswhere.

considering it. depends if there are two other "cashie" wfb's to fill the NPR spots with i guess.
I tell you this. its way less frustrating getting a 15 from a cheapie who you've played in your 17 then getting a 25 from a 400k wfb.
you can get away with the 15 or so from a cheapie if it means youre stacked elsewhere.

I'm more comfortable playing Gutherson than Copley TBH. That said, he's an NPR in my team at the moment

Thoughts on Foran at no. 7 for eels? How is his kicking game? Can he transition from a 6 to a 7 and increase in value by 100k?

The problem is if you want a balanced 17 that will score well you'll have to forgo some of the guns. Smith, Fifita & Parker are the 3 high end priced guns & you can really only choose 1 realistically & I've gone for Smith. Hunt is probably a pod but the obvious choice at half back is DCE in terms of price & the fact that he'll be the dominant half at Manly. It's much harder this year & I think this is good.
I think you could fit all 3 in and have a some what balanced team this took me 5 mins to make with smith fifita and parker
smith granville
fifita jturbo nuffie nuffie
parker lam rochow buhrer tapine nuffie
dce areynolds hastings taylor
hurrell avua nufie nuffie

He did his acl 4 years ago during the season then did it before the year started the following seasons and again 2 years ago before the season kicked offSoylentGreen wrote:

That's what I mean - he missed 2014 with an ACL and came back strongly in 2015.

Whilst there undoubtedly will be a few surprises once teams start actually playing games, is still very worthwhile doing research.
I mean stuff like Cam Smith being hooker, Woods being a big minute prop are not going to change.
And a lot of the big questions around playing minutes, can't be answered by initial team lists anyway
