Hey guys, not sure if this article has been mentioned but it indicates that a few players (including Edwards and Frizell) may possibly miss some of the opening rounds

Yeah, Edwards has been ruled out for a couple of rounds by our physio, although there does seem to be a bit of confusion as to his return.

I don't think you posted at all on SPortal in 2015?  Been in jail mate  Very Happy ?

Ha, I can't remember if I had the same username or not but I think I piped up occasionally when I had something useful to say.

Oh ok, changed usernames explains it, when I first started posting over there normanwall was a pretty busy poster.

For those who have him, or looking at the Dragons make up, Masoe has done his ACL and out for season:

Mearcat085 wrote:It's not so much that Merrin has left and therefore you expect LAM to step up that concerns me about him. It's more the amount of cattle they have. Dragons relied on Merrin for a lot of the time and looking at those stats whether he was or wasn't there, Ah Mau still only averaged 49.9 minutes per game. Now if he scores at an average of 49.1 that's almost one PPM and I'll take that every day but with their off season purchases, the availability of Packer etc etc will he get the minutes? If he only gets 40 minutes that reduces his average to around 36 and at 357k that is a harder decision to make.

The Dragons don't really have any quality genuine props. Just looking at the fantasy positions, Cooper, JDB, LAM & Lui are listed as FRF/2RF, and Creagh isn't a hulking front rower, so you're getting down to Packer and Masoe before you hit a genuine prop. Take out Frizell for the first few rounds (and who knows how long it will take for him to get up to big minutes), and it's the same situation in the 2nd row, with only Cooper and Thompson looking like taking big minutes.

They might have plenty of cattle, but I wouldn't call it prime beef.

So they have Ikahifo and Lui waiting in the wings.  Not sure about rookies available, anyone know any of those Nines new names-although doubt there will be any props in there.

If your location wasn't listed as Brisbane I would question whether you were SC Guru Tom Sangster. He has a massive man crush on JDB.

Cartwright comes in and out of my team and as some have said if he is named I will probably have him. Taia will get 80 mins so hoping he can get 45+.

Taia is overpriced and don't think he'll get 80. Will he even start?

So with Masoe out what's the Dragons forward rotation going to look like?

    8. Ah Mau
    9. Rein
    10. De Belin
    11. Thompson
    12. Frizell (Matthews I guess if Frizell misses the first few rounds)
    13. Cooper

    14. Packer
    15. Creagh
    16. Matthews
    17. Ikahihifo/Lui

Unless the Dragons decide to run with a bench hooker then the minutes situation with their forwards ain't looking any clearer to me. I thought Mose was going to be used as a 20-30 minute impact player but now he's gone for most of the season then they might change their plans because well none of their other forwards quite have the impact he would have had.

Yup, I'm by no means saying that they have great cattle, just a lot of it. IIRC there was a bit of talk about Rulon Nutira last year, promising youngster but not sure he'll get a run. And they still have Rory O'Brien hanging about as well dont they? Again, not prime beef but plenty of fodder.
