Exactly. I was pondering over this when selecting for the Ultimate draft. Took a gamble of sorts and went with Mannering. Here is hoping he continues to play 80 mins at lock and scores more tries this year.

Can't see how he goes back to 80, especially with the addition of Whitehead and now Tapine and Papa looking like staying in the backrow

Stockwell. K. Sims has been training in 2nd row so he'll start there & Stockwell will start in front row. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

Yup, 500k per season each. Same money as say, Adam Reynolds.
Or Ryan Hoffman. How can some young gun be paid the same as Hoffman, dude is a fucking legend.

Canberra always pay overs to lure the player they want to move down to that cold, boring, depressing city.

No wonder he signed with the Raiders. They have paid overs IMO.

Yeah that's what was 'reported'. Whether that's knights damage control, wild media speculation because "Raiders always pay overs" or actually accurate is anyone's guess. Unless we are no longer trying to get Jr Paulo I doubt its that high (although all fans say this when someone signs I know). Seems far too high to pay for a position we are already strong in for someone with talent but little experience. I've no doubt we paid pretty well though, wouldn't have got him otherwise. Just that number seems extreme.

Just another one of the Knights players we haven't kept who will bite us in the ass. Adds to a long list.

It sucks dude. People will try and claim it's on your club management (I guess part of it is, they could always dump the development and turn to poaching....) but the NRL have to shoulder 99% of the blame IMO. The current rules stink.

also for perspective, if the reported amount is true, it is the same amount as Titans pay Greg Bird and Sea Eagles pay Nate Myles. Way over paid (if true)

As nice as it would be this just scuttlebutt and not confirmed. All the good coaches would jump on Stockwell if he was named anyway

The very small conciliation I get out of this is that at least he is going to Canberra who have been robbed blind by doing the right thing time after time.

I'd like to see a juniors discount come in. 15% discount or something for kids that have played a certain amount of games for your club. Would work out that you could have probably another two decent players in your squad because you've put in the money behind them.

I really hope Brown sends a message here, leave early and you don't play for us. Why develop a player that's just going to leave. We've got enough young talent coming through to focus on.

As for people suggesting K Sims will be playing the second row don't think it's set in stone. Brown has come in and said he wants players to train in a multiple of positions so if injuries happen they can be easily covered. He may be training there every now and then but his future is in the middle. That's his preferred position and that's where he will be most useful for the Knights.

Brown used to throw a fair few players into different positions when he was coaching saints, Solly ended up playing prop a few times so likely what you are saying above mate in regards to Korbin

Also I don't know if anyone has seen the Saifiti brothers but they are both huge units. Will make first grade this year if they don't have feet for hands. They're both like 6'3 over 110 kgs

Yeah that doesn't surprise me to hear mate. I was pretty concerned when we signed him originally but I'm happy so far with everything he has said. So here's hoping.

Fuck me, I haven't talked this much about the Knights in ages.

EDIT: Keep in mind as well, Tapine isn't a local junior but we picked him up young.
