My gut feeling is Paul Vaughan has played his last game for @NRL_Dragons. There was speculation around his future prior to latest issue. Hearing sanctions not far away. Expecting mass suspensions and fines. @aus_sport

Current MID/EDG lineup:

Angus iPap Koloa
Tupouniua Schuster

Tohu Curran Jones

Intention is to hold Tohu and go Jones + Tupouniua/Curran to Fifita, Turbo + MID (have a Mil in the bank). Plan is to grab Fifita round 18, and Turbo round 19 for Hynes. Should be able to afford any MID.

Short on trades (6 more after putting 2 aside for Turbo/Fifita) so can probably only get one more MID in. Question is whether I go for a round 17 guy (AFB, Lodge, Lolo, Jackson) or whether I sacrifice one round and grab Murray or Haas after origin. Both Murray and Haas should play round 18.

Anyone wanna weigh in or offer something I'm missing?

Players serving one-match suspensions will be split across a minimum of 2 Rounds and a maximum of 4 Rounds to ensure the Dragons have enough players available to field a squad each week.

What's the bet Birds suspension is round 18?

Players who have to isolate through no fault of their own could potentially miss two games and these guys miss one game. Terrible look.

Would prefer Murray/Haas over those four personally. I think I'd only go one of those four if I was confident they'd go big at least this round and then stay in touch with the average of Murray/Haas for the run home (which of course is possible). Not sure if that helps haha

I'd like to peek in to this parallel nrl world where covid never happened, just to see the state of the game without the obvious domino effects that's led to here.

I'm in the same boat and very heavily leaning to the Murray/Haas option. Both will be coming in for me Round 18 if named. I think both will average low 60s to end the year and the options you mentioned are capped at 50-55. Murray/Haas also more likely to go large, and generally more fun to watch too haha

So the bunch of dickheads, which is the dragons board, meet tomorrow. It is possible there will be further action taken by them.

Lol I'm fully going to end up playing Roberts whenever Bird serves his suspension.

Not against it at all. The optics for a professional sport are terrible, will lose sponsors and eyes on the game over this.

Honesstly, they should be serving their ban all in the one week. Then when the scoreboard reads 100-0, they will feel guilty for letting 5 kids on debut be on the other end of that.

Bit of game theory and data analytics in how to optimally spread 12 bans over 4 weeks. I’m sure Hook will decide. It should probably be a mathematician.
