No teams number up correctly, winger comes in and leaves the Rabbitohs winger a free run to the line, every week.

He made a bold decision to call out his team's best player and show that everyone is accountable. Payten got the Cowboys on a 3 match winning streak at one point in the year (Without Lolo mind you) and they're still within one win outside the top 8.

Oh but because Lolo isn't a fantasy gun anymore, Payten has to be a shit coach that came in trying to tell all his players he's got the biggest dick in the room by singling out Lolo.

Watch the games you howler! Nothing to do with fantasy. Lolo hasn’t been same player because TP wanted him not just running 250m a game but to be more accountable defensively. Called him out, when he’s been heart and sole of team since JT retired. Funnily enough TP said he wanted Lolo playing minutes he did back then, well guess what mate one of the greatest of all time isn’t running the side around anymore! JT was absolutely the wrong player to call out when other around are dog shit! McGuire called his own team out for fuck sake.

Looks like a case of trying to force a big money player out to me

I've been thinking this. Could the board want to for some reason move Lolo on and Payten the new bloke in has been given the task to get this going? New bloke gets the shit task kind of thing cause the suits are too gutless. I don't know, probably way off the mark but makes you wonder.

There is definitely a merit to this trade. You get two more scores than Bird, unless you have an another center other than Roberts

I'm preferring Manu personally. But seriously thinking of bringing him in for Bird. Leaves me with Manu, Burton and Peach. Manu may get rested though, but this year, don't see it. Ramien just as good an option. I just don't have a great feeling about all this Dragons stuff.

I’m considering exactly the same but decided against it. It will give me maybe 50 points this round and possibly an uplift of 5 for the next 8 rounds when I expect Bird to drop back slightly - particularly if he’s more CTR than 2nd row. I still have Peach as a backup so won’t get much more uplift when Bird sits out a round.
However the killer for me is the value of a trade. I only have 6 left and have plans for 2 (LThompson to DFifi and CHN to TTurbo). That leaves 4. And over 8 rounds there’s a good chance of injuries or suspensions leading to a loss of at least that many final 17 guns.
The annoying bit is that I’ll probably drop my 3rd CTR in the run-in - and it may we’ll be Bird rather than Peach - although it could also be Avo. I guess I’d prefer to see how these 3 unfold- because dropping Avo would enable a different gun that might be better than Ramien.

Ramien, Bird, Manu all qualify as centre keepers imo.

if you’ve got no other centre cover, then trading Bird gives you (at least) two extra scores. But at the cost of a trade (and in a notoriously unreliable position), so depends how many you have left, current depth, and what you need to complete your team.

Post up your team, Pain. At your rank, might be worth a gamble.

I think it's all a bit overblown personally. He called out Lolo once a few months ago. His game time is down a few minutes. Haven't really seen any further evidence of a rift between the two. His output is down, whether that's evidence that he's kicking stones because of a falling out or whether he's just a bit down on form I don't know.

    Howdy Y'all,

Weighing in on the Bird trade proposals. Its something the 'Topes are strongly considering. When you say it out aloud it sounds sideways as hell, but based purely on averages, it makes sense with Bird set to miss two games.

    Bird - 7 games @ 42 ave = 294 points
    Manu - 9 games @ 42 ave = 378 points
    Ramien - 9 games @ 49 ave = 441 points

Ramien's average lifts to 53 if you take out the injury-affected game (477 points - but is that a sustainable CTR average?), and Manu's average is boosted by his games at 5/8 and FB (39 at CTR vs. +50s at FB and 5/8 ). At the end of the day though, Birds worst score (except for Rd1) is 29 which isn't horrible. But I'm guessing the Dragons will likely be a mess.

CTR scoring is notoriously unreliable, so there's no guarantee that's how it will play out.

    The Mayor.

I’d say Aitken and Ramien, with Crichton as backup, work as a CTR combo for the run home. So, is the trade worth the extra, say, 60 points over the two rounds vs having an extra one at the back end of the season?

edit: the Mayor’s numbers are even better- i just assumed Bird and Ramien would average the same, but the evidence suggests otherwise.

Well, at least if they shut down the NRL for a few weeks, I would have saved trades on Tohu and Cleary.

Guys it’s round 17 and trades are single digit

Give any and all centres a miss.

Who got something else? Averillo? No wait... he’s listed at centre

    Most sensible take

He’s 28 and ten years of being a battering ram has caught up with him and he’s lost a bit of his explosiveness. To me, that’s the most obvious explanation for his lower effectiveness this year. Not the coach making one comment a few months back.

Great info thanks. Im thinking Bird to Ramien as my one trade this week. I skipped the lolo trade. Am waiting for Haas or Mahoney.
I've still got Cleary and Tohu. Haven't been able to pull the trigger on these two

    Cheers, full current team is

    Macca
    Lolo BSmith IPap
    Matto Fifita
    SJ ARey
    Bird Aitken
    Teddy Turbo Walsh
    Hunt CHN Fog Moses
    AFB Hynes Verrils SCrichton

Hynes becomes Ponga at some point and whoever else fails or gets injured becomes Haas

4 trades left, live rank of 118

With my trade position and depth I feel like I’m invested into taking a risk and hanging on through the next few rounds with only a trade or two to cover injuries

Obviously wingers are told to jam in and give their opposite a free run to the line?
