i agree.  Looks to me like you've got pretty good depth across the board to cover a 1-2 week absence.

Also considering Bird to Ramien, I'm trying to work out if the better play is to trade Momo instead at the cost of 70k and keep Bird. That 70k though would be used towards getting guns like Fifita/Ponga/etc.

What news have I missed, why are people selling Bird?

I've currently gone Hynes -> Ramien and my CTRs are now: Ramien, Bird, Avo, Mbye(cover for wfb/ctr).
Plan was RTS -> Ponga next week with Mbye as cover for WFB and Bird CTRs.

Tempted to now do Bird -> Ramien and have Mbye as CTR cover and then next week do Hynes -> Ponga and RTS to a cashout/down WFB cover as an 18th man kinda thing.

any feedback would be greatly appreiated.

I am starting to feel like my strategy of holding as many trades as possible for the final weeks might turn against me and I should be more aggressive.

I feel like we underestimate the variety of shapes being thrown at outside defenders and the quality of playmakers in exploiting space out wide.  Most teams condense their defence in an effort to try and win the middle, so there is always the potential of numbers out wide if the attacking team can get on the front foot in the middle and give their halves enough space to make plays.

As an admittedly biaised fan, i think Souths, and Cody Walker in particular, have been exceptionally good at exploiting those opportunities for a couple of years now.  Reynolds straightening up inside gives Cody the space to do so.  The games they lose have been those where they have been dominated in the middle and haven't had those front-footed opportunities, not because any particular team's outside backs have 'solved' how to defend against them.  I'm more interested to understand how defensive lines react to both halves being on the same side of the field, which Souths do a lot.

Current centres are Peachey, Olam and Burton. That’s fine until Cleary/Luai return and Burton most likely becomes Cleary. Is this week probably the best to grab a Manu/Ramien and take the points on offer? Or wait for a base pricer to pop up over the next couple of weeks?

worth reading the last couple of pages on trading Bird out. if you've got the trades (and i think you have?), i'd grab one of Ramien or Manu now.  Get the points for this week, and (hopefully) grab a centre keeper for the rest of the year.

Trade out for this week will be Brodie Jones who has done a great job but run his course. I think I’d have to go for Manu playing FB this week against the dogs and will be hurting from last weeks beating. His versatility and the fact he scores well when moved is a positive

Ramien seems very favoured over Manu. Maybe I'm hung up on the 98 Manu scored against the Dogs at FB 2 years ago lol. Ramien seems to like a suspension or injury but nothing to base that off.

Souths are one of the best teams to create numbers out wide. It takes one of the better FBs to anticipate the play early and provide the extra cover. Maybe the defending halves can move allong the back line with the opposition halves to get numbers? Thinking outside the traditional shapes...
I loved how Turbo in SOO provided extra numbers by leaving his CTR position in attacking plays, great strategy.

I think Manu scores better than Ramien this week. But I'm leaning towards Ramien banking on his higher floor and feel like he outscores Manu playing centre. Could be completely wrong.

I think trading Bird to Ramien is an outrageous decision and very knee jerk. Bird missing two games is exactly what cover is for.
