They're all good imo. All have doubts, all have upside, depends on team make up and gut feel. Gut feel.

He must have been sick. It's the worst "non-injury" performance ever. And they're not gonna admit it before or during the game. And after the game they had bigger problems. Hope Burton and Ming play, would really fuck with my trades.
Yeah, TPJ does get a lot of stick about his endurance, and is on his haunches plenty, but never like I saw him last weekend. Also, he's actually really good at the non-fantasy effort plays of closing off the pass or hassling the kicker and he was doing absolutely *none* of that but still looking out on his feet every set.
Also, I'm kind of surprised there's any NRL club that hasn't given flu shots to their entire payroll. There'd be one or two anti-vax holdouts but it wouldn't rip through your whole squad.

Think I’ll get Ipap this week over a round 13 guy seeing he’s pretty much a must have. Will trade Talakai to him.
Could then also do Schneider to Peoples and look at Tass to Butcher next week.

I would have thought that the magic number would have been weighted towards fantasy player relevance?Milchcow wrote:

Haas getting a big score should be weighted more heavily than Barnett getting a big score.

I think that would be compulsory if you win.
Although, if you win, I think you'd probably be rank 1 Overall and we'd all call you Lord Mulvy anyway

My question exactly.
I want to bring Peoples in and free up cash so could possibly get any of them over the next 3 weeks. However, in what order?

Reckon I rate this weeks trade ins in the following order:
Guns and Mid Tiers:
Robson - Plays RD13 and who's doing all the right things. He's scoring very well and if he can snag a try will go huge. Has the Granville bench risk, but all trades have their risks and as he's currently not there, Robson seems a great trade in
McInnes - Gun with pedigree who's now starting, risks is he's in a better team now with more help around the park, but looks a handy 50-60 point player at the moment and an upgrade on our mid 30s to mid 40s players
Butcher - Comes at a tasty price and is finally has a chance to start for good mins, but has risks that as Roosters he still get's benched for a good spell
Walsh - Round 13, covers the pesky WFB position that many don't have cover for so could be a good in, plus has history of scoring well in said tricky position. Has it's risk but could be a great play
IPap - Comes in at a hefty price already and still unclear if he can sustain this price. Could pay to wait till after RD 13 now and see if that price comes down before now. Not a bad trade as always good to get guns, but money may be better spent elsewhere with RD13 on the horizon
Matto - Has pedigree also, but probably a tier down and doesnt play round 13. Good player who generally wont let you down unless he sees a big minute change
Barnett - Position looks to be a major factor for this one. Great price and if he can keep an Edge spot but looks to drop down a lot at lock. He's also a massive suspension risk as he doesnt have much impulse control. Big risk but like Walsh could be a great play if it pays off
Tohu - Uber gun before but coming back from a serious injury in limited mins. Could be a key buy, but possibly next week or week after due to those mins and price drops
Cash Cows:
Peoples - Looks to have at least 2 or 3 good scores in him coming up due to injury, so risk he doesn't get enough of a chance, but this could be a great chance to cash out some deadweight in your team as well as use that cash for an upgrade. If he jags some good scores in his chances and further injury strikes the Rabbits it might prolong his stay of relevance. Risky but looks enticing
Wishart - Not sure I see the appeal here at all after last round. Yes cheap, but his position is certainly not guaranteed and neither are scores from him. Had a pretty poor game last week and if again could see him replaced and your stuck with yet another dud
Miller - Kennedy is due back next round from suspension - Don't do it

Any love for Knights Mat Croker? At current minutes and PPM probably not relevant turning in 30s, but unlike Leo he can actually play Rugby League and might be one to watch. BE 8, avg 30. $325k.

Too low on trades to be making slow burn plays like that now

This morning I'm thinking of getting McInnes and Robson. I'll play Koula for the week and run without cover and probably get Walsh next week. So means;
Randall and Pap out - McInnes and Robson in. I want to gun for round 13 but McInnes at that price is hard to give up. Walsh can wait a week maybe and Butcher I'd like to see a week. Gives me an extra forward if Burton is out too as Nanai will have to get a run. Gives me;
Cook
McInnes Yeo Jing
Fermor Aitken
Hastings Cleary
Penis Tago
Hynes Scritta Koula
Robson Ming Starling Burton
Nanai Leo Vailea Wishart
135K left and 20 trades. Will ponder McInnes now or 14 though....

ugh, i really want Garner, i really do think he's got the best upside of the cheapies, but i think i need to go cheap gun/quick cash with Robson/Peoples, suppose that gives me a look at him on the weekend and where he is on the Tigers next team list, but i really think i'd be getting ahead of the crowd bringing him in this week.

I think u need to pick Garner, clearly confident in him.
What the difference in choosing either Robson or Garner this week ?

I like the Garner call, but my team balance felt like it needed a second class hooker, so Robson it was.
McInnes losing HOK is one the great fantasy travesties imho.

i'd probably be off Peoples if i grabbed Garner, not sure i trust a train-and-trail player to stick around.

Haas getting a big score should be weighted more heavily than Barnett getting a big score.
What we call the "magic number" is just total cost of all players playing in a round ($132,341,000 in R10) divided by total points scored (9735 in R10)
It doesn't care at all about the breakdown of how those points/dollars are achieved.
I'm not sure exactly what change you are proposing. But weighting players scores based on ownership so highly owned players get bigger weighting would be a terrible option. A change like that would kill any desire for a POD if they had to score more points than the good players in order to make the same cash.

My last request for votes actually made the voting closer, rather than giving a clear option.
So another request for community team voting

Schneider and Randall are going out, but not sure who to trade in out of Robson, McInnes, Buther, Peoples

WT2K wrote:For the draft folk... Gagai in. Tuala out.
Not really related but a good time to wrap the Gagai signing and the impact it will have on Knights young outside backs
Gagai is one of the smartest outside backs in the league and a "big game player". He regularly gets roasted for only showing up during origin but the amount of prep work that goes into his game he can turn it on against anyone
Breaking down centre play in attack is tough but there is two main baskets.
The first is the guy that want to get "crash balls". That being a ball where they are running an outside-in line trying to hit the gap between inside shoulder of opposition centre. These guys are typically big body outside backs that are looking to generate quick play the balls and mis matches on the outside. This will typically be done close to the try line to ensure opposition doesn't have much time to react. This requires a playmaker (historically halves but more recently fullbacks) that can take the ball deep into the line at the 4 defender (second rower) before playing late allowing the centre to hit the gap. The centre will then land on their front getting a quick play the ball. Because the centre and halfback are tied up in the tackle on the centre, this means the second rower and one of the middles will have to sweep to cover the blind side. Even without a numbers advantage good teams will be able to beat the tired forwards with speed. Prototype centre from the modern game for this role is Will Chambers
The second is the guy that wants to beat his man with size, speed and skill on the outside. They will typically want a quick play the ball then getting it early with plenty of time and space to work their man over. These type of players will typically get the ball a little further out in attack, since they have the skillset to break the line and set others up. Generally this play will be done starting at the near post with a long blind side and lots of space between defenders. Prototype centre from the modern game for this role is Michael Jennings
Now turning onto Gagai. Gagai is probably the only centre in the league that excels in both situations. As long as he gets the ball in "the right window" he can run the crash play and generate a quick play the ball to hit on the next play or he can get early ball to beat his man inside or out. The right window is the key to centre play. Give the ball too early on an outside line the chasing defence will bundle the centre over the sideline. Give the ball too late and the winger jams in to stop the ball before it happens.
Gagai taught a trick or two to Campbell Graham during his time at the Rabbitohs but I'm excited to see how physical freaks like Bradman Best and Dom Young develop learning from the master
