"Luke Brooks will miss Round 20 after suffering a calf injury at training (via
    @proshenks
). Sounding like Tigers fear a moderate strain, with scans to confirm. Would usually be a 3-6 week recovery if so, at this stage potentially season ending" - NRLPhysio

Could mess with the plans of those bringing in Hastings the lock.

So will the Tigers finally be forced into playing their best halves combo of Hastings and Doueihi?

Or will they just bring Madden in to keep the Hastings at lock experiment alive?

Looking at doing McInness and Kennedy to Murray and Mbye, which leaves 3 trades remaining.

Worth it, or just hold McInness with the Finucane news?

No, it's dark out there and I have a Fear of the Dark. There's also Killers out in the hills. I am a Trooper though and not a Prisoner so I may survive out there Where Eagles Dare.

    Sorry, let's move on....

Thanks Wolfy...My usual comfort zone heading into the last 5-6 rounds is to have 1 trade per two rounds which I spend on sideways stuff/injuries as it moves along, leaving at least 1 to cover a round 25 resting

I reckon if you (or I) spend three trades you probably need to have cover for every position no matter how weak.

With two trades left you probably have to play someone like Mbye for a week rather than spend your second last trade 4/5 weeks out...believe me it bites a little bit actually buying him, but I need the CTR cover pale

The risk/reward play is to go for it and hope for the best but you might have to trade to cover a one week injury/suspension/rest.

I went Barnett to Fifita last week and I definitely think it's an upgrade.

In saying all this, the few times I have been in the top 100 heading into the end of the season my regrets over the final couple of rounds have always been about not following through on risky moves and ending up with a solid 50-100 place rather than a great placing, so I think you should probably go for it

When is Ramsey back though? I'd hate to buy Mbye for cover only for him to go back to the bench for 6 points a week.

Thing is though, my conservative nature is coming back. I've never been this high and would be happy with a top 100 finish. Getting the highest owned players should do that. For me though, it's just getting the cash to turn Barnett/Lolo into Haas instead of Moses. As Mulvy pointed out, not sure if the extra trade provides that much gain. Moses does feel safer than both of those two but Eels do have a tough run.

Much as it leaves a little bit of sick in my mouth buying him, Mbye was covering for Suli at CTR anyway so I think he is in the run on for the rest of the season

Edit : when I said not taking risks I meant worrying about saving trades, rather than just getting the best players you can and hoping for the best.

You are already up there so I think you should just get the highest scoring players you can.

That's why Ted and Haas are probably the targets. I don't mind Fifita as an alternate to Haas though.

I didn't take notice of the Dragons backline so if he's in for Suli, you'd imagine he'd go back there with Bird back to second row.

I'd rather Hammer but looks like he's stuck on the bench.

Still like you're 3 trade option. Depends what your goal is too mate and how to play it.

Why? Can't Hastings play the running game and AD kick? Hastings still managing foot issue I thought

If I were you I’d bring in Haas and Teddy mate.

I just have 4 trades contemplating going all out with Koula to Mbye and RFM to Murray leaves just 2 trades for 5 rounds though.

    Would leave my 14-21 with…

    Angus Elliot Tohu Moses
    Booth Kennedy Mbye Matamua

Do I pull the trigger or is the 18-21 too weak?

Goal is just to try and scrape a few more placing back in overall and solidify a top 3 finish in a comp I have been in for about 12 years. Had a terrible start this year so have been scrambling ever since to try and scrape a few $$ together to get to a decent 17 (or at least 16 Very Happy )

I think if I let Haas go this week he's gone and it's Butcher next week

    I'd rather Hammer as well

very early reports saying Madden to pair with Doueihi. Could show that tigers want Hastings at lock next year.

Unlikely to affect Doueihi much I would think. Still has a busted foot so he wouldn't do the majority of in-play kicking or take any conversions.

Some weirder than usual advice from the Lone Scout this week:

    - Koro a good buy because Kenny isn't on the bench this week (even though it's the first game Kenny's missed since round 8 & Grant is only $17k more)
    - Fogarty and Nanai are better buys than DiFi
    - Mbye is a trap (fundamentally misunderstanding the point of a cash out, the way his answer reads)
    - Sell Manu because he's back at centre, even though he's up against a weakened Manly backline (and still averages 45 at centre this year)
    - A general obsession with using 3 or 5 round averages to justify trading/keeping someone

Main concern for Tigers should be getting Hastings at the Tigers next year, don't worry about position

Looks good to me. I think there will be a lot running a weaker 18-21.
