How long are you willing to have him in your team if it takes 10 weeks to get u to a starting spot/usable scores

i'm talking from a round 1 perspective, so having Preston from round 1 will be worth it.

    Its still an awkward selection.

If he doesnt get good mins until round 10 then that is not 'being right', as you've held a guy doing nothing for 10 rounds. Its as good as saying Blake Mozer is a great buy.

Your HLF depth is a hole, but you could sub Warbrick into WFB and use Martin as the HLF depth with Katoa. Can't fault your logic with Cook v Cleary. What they score is anyone's guess

What's your thoughts on Uto? I'm tossing him up as well, seems value if he gets 45 odd minutes but the Tigers pack has a lot of mouths to feed

Yeah there's a bit of risk. Katoa could be useless and therefore my half depth is non-existent. I didn't realise the Titans had a bye in R5. A lot hinging on Martin and Katoa being serviceable halves then... that's definitely food for thought in the Cook vs Cleary battle. On the flip side, no Cleary R3 means we have to play a 18-21 player regardless who might score the same as Martin/Katoa in R5 or 7 anyway? I have tinkered with Hastings as a half.

In regards to Uto, I have a gut feeling that the young fella is entering his prime. We saw what he was capable in 2021 but was gimped a little in 2022. He's got the PPM as a starting Prop to be at least 10 points undervalued and I reckon he's entering his prime. The bench make up Sheens has put out certainly points to decent minutes and some faith in him.

Well that is what we don’t know do any Tigers fans have any thoughts around it? I thought talk coming out was that Bateman would play edge… maybe he plays both. Blore could play 70mins this week and 25mins next week if Bateman is back. He has the pedigree though so it could be worth the risk.

Pretty sure it's been mentioned by the Tiger management team?

Think we are confusing what people on here think is better due to name recogntion and giving the Tigers a backrow of IPap/Ofa/Bateman over IPap/Bateman/Blore

I’m finding it hard to split Doorey and Blore. Doorey probs a bit safer JS but a worse ppm.

I'm with you mate. Tigers were the wooden spooners. Of course Ofa isn't the reason why, but Bateman was silky for the Raiders and seems like having him at lock might be a good shake up for a team in the dumps

My team has similar risks to yours, or similar build overall really. Just a few gun differences like you have Cook/Murray/Doueihi while I have Cleary/Grant/Carrigan

I think TMM at worst can do low to mid 30s. Maybe high 30s if Warriors improve

I'm toying with the idea of Moses as well as a POD. Not his best year in '22 but averaged 59.4 in '20 and 59.2 in '21. Looked gun in trial match, year older, more hunger after final loss etc.

I haven't watched Raiders preseason, but what's the go with Saulo kid. Looks like he jumped Emre and Mariota who were getting the nod over him starting in the trail vs the Bulldogs. But seemingly was picked ahead of them with Papalii out.

Is it purely just knowing he is likely benched next week?

For what its worth, Lee Hagipantelis (Tigers chairman) has said that Bateman isn't out this weekend due to injury, but because he got here late and doesn't know the plays

I wouldn't trust Ricky with a rookie starting prop, every chance he is benched by game day, or next week, or starts and gets 20 mins in 1 stint then dropped the next week.

I wouldn't trust him with any forward rotation, it's also why I'm so curious about guys taking Tapine

Moses will have been killed by the reduced points for kicking meters. He had 800 in a game at some point.

I swear Ofa wasn't playing lock when team lists first came out. This changes things re: Blore. Pretty risky.

This interview here Isaiah Papalii says "Batsey's been playing on the right"
    About 2:25 into the video
Also says he's "rehabbing an injury" to conflict with the "he's not injured" interview above

IPAP said here yesterday that bateman was rehabbing an injury at training - https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2023/02/27/isaiah-papalii-interview/

He also said that he (IPAP) chose to play left edge to make it easy (Sheens gave him the choice), as 'bateys been playing on the right'.

Unsure what that refers to specifically, but would sound like Bateman will play edge according to the above video.

The conclusion of my research is I won't get Blore, because he'll likely be gone too soon, and I have 3 other Tigers I am interested in (Doueihi, Uto, Talau)
