Yeah that seems the obvious thing to me. Alamoti, HSS and Talau haven't left my team. Regardless of if Thompson has good job security I'd rather just go cheaper.

Meanwhile Talau is now my only CTR and WFB cover following TLT which I'm not thrilled about but might go with it. Will probably need to give To'o a miss and go Meaney so I don't need to worry about cover for To'o rd3.

Yeah I did the same initially before moving on from the idea.

For now it’s like start 2, bench 1 from CNK/TMM/Warbrick, with Perham I guess also an option. Don’t like.

The more I think about running 5 cheap outside backs the more I'm leaning towards downgrading Grant to find funds to bring in Latrell and/or Turbo.

Luki said (a little while ago) that he's looking at being back around round 4/5/6 (which would be around 10 months since acl)

I'm starting Warbrick in my WFB as long as he has that spot, his style of play is great for fantasy and he'll be the one Hughes is kicking for (last year Coates was mostly on the right and he had some huge games there).

I would probably do that but I have Val over any of the gun WFBs because then I only need to juggle one cheap centre instead of two.

That said, Trell is one I would love to pick but I can't quite stretch the extra 150k over Val.

Ah yes it was the position and not the player that Hughes was kicking at. Hughes will forget that Coates is an athletic freak because he swaps sides.

I'm high on Warbrick being a good fantasy option but this is a terrible take

Sick of the sight of my centres and have brought in Staggs. Much prefer it.

I was just mulling over this. The 3x250k roulette will be pretty ugly in a couple of weeks time, especially if Staggs or Holmes comes out of the blocks firing.

Which Staggs is going to turn up to start the season though.

    Alamoti Thompson
    Miller Perham Warbrick

with only HSS on the bench. If I need a WFB cover then can go HSS to C2 then have Thompson cover WFB assuming its not a late out.

I had CNK but i trade him down to Ford because Ford I see as having much more upside. Thing is can i risk going that light and then just use trades eg someone down to Sloan worse case.

    TU: Ford
    TD: CNK

Snatchpato wrote:With Alamoti and HSS less risk of losing their role, is it even worth taking the punt on Thompson? Could just chuck Talau in the 18-21 to cover any unexpected changes, or even Hunt.

I've just switched Thompson to HSS

Cheaper, and better base. I can easily see Thompson putting up a couple of sub 20 scores.

I've been listening to the TL podcast and they all have Staggs as premium option.

Given I have Alomati, HSS and Talau, i can see the valu ein bringing some sort of consistency to the team

Love both these lists. A+ content as always.

Even though I agree on Miller I think I will be running him. Think it's better to have him and risk him doing poorly than vice versa.

Ford currently in my team, but I think he will have to make way. Don't want too many with marginal JS with the risk of them all needing traded around the same time...

    Come vote in community team

    https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/t2089p20-2023-community-team

Will close off votes tonight so we can run captaincy polls etc. Need some post TLT votes. Nicho Hynes currently still makes the team unless I manually discount him

I think they kick for Coates, regardless of side.

Also Coates also had some absolute trash fantasy games - he was definitely not someone you wanted to play every week. Unless you like hat trick lotto.
