I've got ARey and Benry to deal with and 59K in the reserves.

As I see it, I have a couple of options.

    1. Upgrade ARey - DCE and only have $24k remaining. This would leave Benry sitting out as a NPR

2 Downgrade ARey to someone like Tyrone Roberts. Have up to 313k to bring in someone like Carter and keep some reserves for a later gun upgrade.

I'm leaning towards option 2. TRoberts looks like he's got the goal kicking duties at the moment and sharing the KM's with Mullens and produced some decent base stats for rd 1.

My other HLF's are Hastings, JNik and Ash Taylor - so I won't be running a gun half.

    Any thoughts?

I find it interesting to see Jack Buchannan didn't drop in price and his break even is the same. Wonder if any players who play and get zero will receive the same treatment

Had a reasonable start (722), and had some good fortune with my reserves, but due to B Henry and other injuries I'm considering surgery:

    C Smith, J Nikorima
    S Burgess, K Evans, R Packer, S Mataora
    T Merrin, B Cartwright, E Whitehead, P Carter, (J Safiti, N Green)
    B Hunt, D Cherry-Evans, J Hastings, (A Walker)
    M Aubusson, C Lawrence, (C Gutherson, B Henry)
    B Ferguson, J Mansour, B Barba, (J Feeney, L Mitchell)

    ($80,000 in the bank.)

So I'm thinking of doing this:

    B Hunt to C Walker
    B Henry to A Fifita

    ($14,000 in the bank.)

I don't really want to trade out Hunt, but all of the possible major cash cows I don't have are in the halves. So Fifita gets rid of Henry and acts as insurance for Hunt's lost points.

Thoughts? Would you do the same? Should I maybe go J Graham instead of Fifita and keep $100,000 plus in the bank?

I'm not planning to make too many more trades, but if Garvey looks good after his first run I might have to consider a similar move with Cherry-Evans next week...

DCE scored 50 ponts for doing nothing on Thursday. Imagine the scores when Manly arent that woeful.

Tough choice but id go with option 1 perhaps

Thats some pretty heavy surgery after just one game pal. Probably best to let things settle, Do you have BHunt and DCE??

I think last year, or maybe the year before someone (Halatau?) lost money in a game they weren't even in the final 17 for. But that was a bug.

Its otherwise always been the case that you can't lose money for not playing in a game, and if they were named in your 17, you'll get an AE for them.

But if someone gets injured in the first tackle for a score of 0, then its tough titties and you cop that score, plus the fall in price

My rule for injuries is 3+ = trade. I have 3 LTI's so going to leave Liicha til next week just in case there is some good news.

But if I only had Liicha to deal with I would move this week. At this stage of the season there are players you can pick up that you might have missed - so there is value in using your trades. Depends on your team though this is my general view.

I didn't see the game but noticed he didn't have any attacking stats... If T Roberts could hit 50 each week, I'd go with him and take the cash. I get the feeling though that's his ceiling.

I know, it seems ridiculous. It's not really a rage trade - I expect he will smash out 60+ against the Warriors this week. The way I see it, there's more to lose if Walker turns out to be a golden cow - could easily match Hasting's output I reckon. And surely Fifita can match Hunt's output without Gallen around...

It does look like you 2RF needs some strengthening up. Downgrading Hunt to free up cash to upgrade BHenry does seem like a reasonable way to do it. Only thing is you're going to be burning trades doing so - especially as you're going to want to get a Hunt or DCE back in the team later on in the season.

Mahaha, ooops! A Taylor that is.

Yeah I know I'd be breaking the "never trade a keeper" rule. I guess the most important things to do at the start of the season are to 1) score points and 2) jump on all the key cows...

    Am I overestimating Cody Walker's money-making potential?
