I've been saying it since pre-season but it really depends on Ponga, if he's due back next week and looks OK then QLD are going to pick him in game 1.

Can't see them playing Ponga without Walsh on the bench. Too big a risk of an early head knock and they are screwed.

Ponga is back R8 and would be first picked if fit (edit what MTB said)

    Yeah thanks MTB and Camo.

Currently looking at Walsh but have been under the impression he gets picked.

CNK is actually intriguing me at the moment as an option instead of Walsh.

Fun fact - despite 2 players getting banners, this was the lowest scoring round of the year. Only 9727 points scored, for a magic number of 13,754

Trying to decide if I make some sweet POD moves or just get Haas in finally. Tapine over him to start the year my biggest regret.

Munster would just go to fullback, hunt to the halves

You're not gonna have both Hunt and Walsh on the bench. It'd just be Munster FB Hunt 5/8 in that scenario surely.

I thought the MN might start creeping back up, but higher than expected this week. I like those implications.

Haven't had much time this year to do a long look at stats, but with the general crop of common WFBs and CTRs performing like roadkill armadillo last round, it really hurt if you didn't have Hammer and/or Walsh and were relying on the likes of Warbrick, ITT, Sloan, Perham (or maybe all of them). Problem this year has been players sustaining unsustainable scoring. So here's an interesting one.

    In games over 60mins:
    Player 1 = 46.3 Ave (6.3 TK, 4.8 TB, 1.3 OH, 204 MG, 4 pts/p/g from T/TA/LB/LBA). High of 51, Low of 41.
    Player 2 = 48.7 Ave (5.7 TK, 4.7 TB, 0 OH, 156 MG, 17 pts/p/g from T/TA/LB/LBA). High of 65, Low of 28.

There's $103k between the two. Who would you rather?

His risk of an early head knock is not greater than it has been previously. When they haven't carried a bench player in case he gets knocked out.

He's been cleared by experts, I don't think we can assume anything about risks going forward.

Notably Keary and Matterson have had bad concussion history, yet they've fortunately managed to avoid frequent knocks lately, or at least serious effects from them, and... it's fine. Roosters aren't carrying a bench half because Keary could get knocked out.
