I'm no physio, but speaking from experience, I had this exact injury last season, and have had numerous times prior. Groins are one of those injuries you can 'play through' but it gets worse and worse to the point where it's completely fucked. A proper tear can take months. No way he's risked if it's a genuine strain, he's way too important to that team to risk.

It's not like they have other fullbacks knocking on the door. They had Laurie who it looks clear they've decided isn't there guy. And if that's the case, there's no value to bringing Laurie in for them in a season where they are fucked.

I think on Ponga we all know the risks but the potential value for that cost is just too much good to pass up. Fullback is a bit of a mess anyway.
