Mike Pouncey taking a physical with us today, would love him on a short term, play your way to a better contract type deal if he passes which I highly doubt, rumours his hips are fucked, but a 60% Pouncy is better than a 200% Pulley

Is Collins a long term solution? I didnt watch the games _that_ closely, but the ones I did watch, he seemed to be very up and down. Like he'd get 80 yards in 4 plays and then crumbs for the next 6 quarters.

hard to say, Forsett had a similar kind of season and then the next year he couldn't find holes in a colander, it's always tricky with those guys that come out of nowhere

Might be more in the Ryan Grant physical failure story...

    http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22845408/wr-ryan-grant-sign-indianapolis-colts

Is Pouncey that good a signing @Welshy? Great player, don’t get me wrong... but is interior line really that big a need for LAC? Given you’ll face a better edge rusher than inside rush in the division, would have thought it Could be better spent in an area of need.

    He’s a great player tho.

Yes mate, Pulley was the worst ranked starting center last year, Pouncey between Lamp and Feeney 2 young studs if exactly what we needed, we conceded the least amount of sacks in the league last year, its our inside run game which needs work and solidifying which Pouncey will bring, decent contract as well $10 over 2 years for a player of his caliber is good

Frees us up in the draft now to hopefully get James if we trade up or take one of the middle linebackers, would alos take Vea, not sure on Payne as yet

Fair enough - like you said, LAC let in the least sacks/game, so I'd have thought your current line was more then good enough. I saw $15m over 2 years? Which is probably about fair... its certainly not a steal when you look at other centre contracts around the league but its not overs either.

    Win/Win honestly.

Rams needed a deep threat - im not sold on Tavon Austin. They got one of the best.
Patriots traded pick #32 to get him + a 4th and got pick #23 + a 4th back to give him up... so they effectively rented him for a year and moved up 9 spots for the privilege.

Rams look very good at the moment. They are the only top contender from last season who actually look substantially better on paper. Every other team is going backwards or treading water in comparison.

yeah i agree, if forced to pick, i would give the pats a slight edge but it seems like a reasonable trade that works for both sides

Draft tomorrow - how do we think the top 10 will play out? NYG look like theyll get Chubb, which is a huge mistake if they do. They'll never get a better chance to replace Eli then right now and Rosen will be available. I'm hoping Denver either take Mayfield, Nelson or trade back with the Cards/Bills/Phins. Assuming Darnold is gone, I don't want any QB other then Mayfield at pick 5, although I'd be happy enough with Rosen. Jets are making all the noise that they are sold on Allen, and they can have him. Ordinary college stats.

    1. CLE - Sam Darnold
    2. NYG - Bradley Chubb
    3. NYJ - Josh Allen
    4. CLE - Saquon Barkely
    5. DEN - Baker Mayfield
    6. IND - Quinton Nelson
    7. BUF via TAM - Josh Rosen
    8. CHI - Roquan Smith
    9. SF - Derwin James
    10. OAK - Denzel Ward

    10. OAK - Minkah Fitzpatrick or Mcglinchy

got to consider the talent Allen had around him in Wyoming mind, which wasn't much biggest Boom Bust prospect in the draft, one of the New York teams will take him

    Chargers - Da-Ron Payne

I want James or one of the backers to fall, but unlikely

Calvin Ridley, please and thank-you Ozzie (though no doubt you'll find a OG/OT/DT to throw the 'safe' pick at)... Mayock reckons we're picking Lamar Jackson... would certainly be an interesting development, but i don't hate it.

Seen a few mocking Jackson to us, don't hate it

If inconceivably one of the top QBs fell to us and past Arizona and Buffalo, I reckon Telesco pulls the trigger

Talent level or not, Allen made a lot of throws harder then they needed to be by not taking the easy 4 yard pass for a 15 yard tight one. 56% completion level against college level DBs? Hard pass.

I'll also be upset if we draft Chubb. 4-3 / 3-4 scheme mismatch and we drafted a 3-4 edge rusher last year in the 2nd. We dont need another one, regardless of how good he might be. There'll be much better options available.

Reckon Chargers take Rudolph? Thats the way I see them going, honestly. Sit him behind Rivers for a while before Rivers retires to spend time with his 14 children.

Have to take Chubb if he is there and build the D back up, drafting a QB puts you in a rebuild unless you nail your 2/3 round picks and they contribute immediately and heavily

Don’t want Rudolph at 17 far too much talent available, I wouldn’t even trade back into top half of second for him! Mcglinchy is a plug and play RT, I wouldn’t even be mad with Hernandez/Wynn if they think Lamp can play RT

Vea won’t drop so I’ll settle on Payne, I’d kill for Edwards or Smith but both highly unlikely

I wouldn’t mind trading back to pick up Esch or REvans for extra picks

Laughing only the Browns could have two top 5 picks, including the no.1 pick and still make everyone watching go "... eh?"

God dammit. Rosen and Nelson both available and we take a player in a position we dont need? Fuck it.

I mean, best player available and all that. But still. Fuck me.

Not a fan of the Hurst pick when Ridley was still there for us, but I suppose TE was a position of need, with Williams not living up to expectation thus far and Boyle being suspended more than he has played, but then we come back into the end of the 1st and steal Lamar Jackson and I can definately get on board with that
