Wowser! Bought a tear to the eye watching Shazier walk out there

Wild watching someone fly around on the football field then struggling to walk a few months later.

Yeah, that was a really classy move getting him to announce the pick.

Gotta be happy with the LAC getting the first safety off the board.

    Best picks:
    - Jets getting Darnold. Best QB imo.
    - GB getting Alexander. Trade back, get a 1st for next year and still fill position of need.
    - CHI getting Smith. No brainer. Great pick.
    - BAL getting a QB with a 5th year option. Trading back into the first for a QB is a great move, regardless of who it is.
    - MIA getting Fitzpatrick. defensive leader from Alabama? Yes please.
    - DET getting that C bloke who is really good 1 pick ahead of CIN's C

    Head scratchers:
    - Pats getting a meh RB. Better available. Could have gotten basically the same quality player any time in the first 3 rounds.
    - SEA getting a worse RB with a higher pick. See above, but worse.
    - NOLA trading a stash for Davenport. Paid way too much.
    - BUF getting Allen. Poo QB and cost them a bomb to trade up to get him.
    - CLE getting Ward. I mean, great player, but they could have traded ages and still gotten him
    - CIN getting that C bloke who is really meh 1 pick behind DET's C

On bus so will go into more detail when I get into work but Browns WTF??

if they wanted Mayfield why not just grab Barkley the best player in the draft first and Mayfield 4th, Ward went wayyy too high! Barkley would of taken so much pressure off whatever QB they chose

I was just gobsmacked to be honest and this is the Browns we are talking about

In a day full of draft stories, I have to give an honerable mention for best moment of the draft to a fan in the crowd, who when his teams pick was announced (I think it was the cowboys?) and the camera did that ‘pan across the teams fans for their immediate reaction’ shot, could be heard yelling “WOOOOOOIDONTKNOWWHOTHATIIIIIIIISSS!!!”

i disagree re them taking barkley

whether or not you think mayfield should be the top QB, i think if you're evaluators believe he is the best QB there. i don't think you leave it to chance and take an RB (especially when they have more $ spent on that position then just about every team already ).

Barkley may be great, they may have got mayfield. but if they went RB and mayfield went either 2 or 3 and went onto to have an unreal career and the browns QB's continued to suck, they would just about look like their biggest fuck up to date. i think they had to take whatever QB they rates the highest #1

they should have taken chubb 4 tho

re niners, bit of a meh draft, mostly solid picks, none really stand out as great. i probably most like the fred warner pick in the 3rd round, can step in if the foster allegations are true or play situational role right away if not. seems like good value where we got him.

didn't like that we spent 2 mid round picks on injury discounted players, we just havn't had much success on these type of guys in the past

I'm on Welshys side with Barkley. Should have taken him 1, Baker would have been available at #4. Jets wanted Darnold and NYG would have gone with Chubb at 2. Easy to say with hindsight though.

I dont follow college closely enough to rate the 9ers draft though the late rounds but I like the WR you guys got + the best OT. Cant be unhappy with that.

Just read now, FML that's huge. Gates finally let go handing to reins to a potential top 3 TE in the league and an ACL, not even a hope to return this season.

    Devastated.

I'd pass on Gates and give Julius a ring

agree re probs preferring julius but wouldn't be surprised if they went back to gates

re niners: fosters DV charges were dropped, originally when the accussed recanted, i wasnt sure if she was paid off but it sounds like there were a few other holes in her story too, i'm gonna go forward thinking/hoping it was all as fabricated as it seems

still faces a misdemeanor weapons charge & pot possession but any suspension isn't gonna be huge now (he'll get somthing) but mainly he now remains part of the organization and from a football perspective its huge because he is gonna be a great linebacker. gotta stay clean off the field now tho, even with DV being throw out, red flags are still quite clearly there.

Or Mercedes Lewis, few options there and the Ravens will release 1 soon might be worth looking at, just devastated!

No way something didn't happen between her and him, she has been paid off big time lol but i'd be happy to have a player of that caliber and turn a blind eye as a fan as bad as that sounds.

Only problem now is you can 100% guarentee Foster is going to be a huge problem moving forward, can't get away with the Ray Lewis type stuff in this PC day and age but because of his talent he will get plenty of chances

You'd go for a TE that Miami didnt want over a guy who already knows the playbook and has a great chemistry with Rivers?

If you had to go elsewhere, you're better off looking at Celek or Lewis, since theyd probably be keen for a 1 year deal before retiring. You dont need to look at Thomas or Fleener who will be chasing 2-3 year deals and end up with too much money committed to TE next season.

Havnt looked at it at all. My 4 keepers are pretty much set in stone last year after I traded anybody else who could have been an option away (and still had the second best record in the league) so it doesnt really require much research. I have an extra 3rd, 4th and 6th to play with so I should start thinking about it.

    You got many notes?
