I started a 2024 post of the year thread to help with remembering at the end of the year.

So I was kicking myself, I was planning on moving the C to Paps (from Hopgood) Figured it would be a good risk, given my scores have been complete cabbage this season anyway....and I missed lockout (cooking the kids dinner and lost track of time). Panik.
Turned the game on at halftime, checked the app and saw that he was on 12 points. No Panik. Could this be the turning point of my fortunes? lol

As the poster with the most posts here, I will say, there's a few personalities here that makes it less appealing to spend as much time as I normally would, unfortunately. But saying that, it's a me thing too. I've been through a few personal changes the last 8 months that puts things like fantasy into perspective. I'd rather come here and have a laugh with you all as opposed to having people big noting themselves or nitpicking every stat. It certainly kills the atmosphere.
Agree on all points but mostly on the 'it's a me thing'...it's annoying if you let it be.
I know that I used to get a bit uptight about some of the things you've mentioned here but have made a concerted effort to let it go in the last few seasons (also conscious that i may not be everyone's cup of good oil).
It can become quite hard to ignore on occasion so I don't mind people calling it out either

POD picks are so silly early on. So hard to nail it. While he's been fine, there's no point having a decent POD score a 55 when the more popular cheaper pick goes 60+. I regret going him over Fog but what's done is done.
Totally agree, yet I find myself each year doing similar things

It's a balance isn't it. I think it's okay to get annoyed by others' behaviour when warranted as long as you can look at yourself and how you're reacting to it too and know when you're poking the bear because of how YOU feel and react to that behaviour. I too am definitely making more of an effort not to fuel peoples fires so to speak and let it go, probably the reason why I haven't been as active but when others won't see any issues with their behaviours and keep doing things that others may have an issue with, that's when it gets tough and it's hard to hold your tongue. Then you do cause waves and beat yourself up knowing you should have just walked the fuck away.

Can't find anything solid on the severity of the Whitehead injury, fwiw I've traded him to Curran. Would have liked to keep him, but with the lack of clarity, the Raiders bye coming up, and the cash it generated to get both Curran & Dylbags this week, I've made my decision. (Also I would have had to play Salmon or Burbo on the edge this week)my tv broke wrote:Any good oil about re Hosking/Whitehead? It would be frustrating to flick the Hosk this week only for him to keep the starting spot for a while longer.
Was going to do Hosk to Gutho.. and that also gives me cash for Hynes next week...

What are your general expectations with Curran? Anyone else you considered instead?

After last evening’s captaincy debacle, I’m tempted to skip out on Blaize and get Curran instead, and I’ll prioritise which Doggies go before and during their bye, whilst also dealing or not dealing with the other problems.

I don’t expect to own Hutch after their bye. Same as Salmon
Hughes may stick around if he gets more minutes as a starting prop, but that’s it

i think Curran is the better buy - though i think his history as an edge isn't hugely relevant since he probably plays the HYBRID role (maybe its better for him anyway and he plays 80 with a good portion of that at mid/lock??)

Whitehead re injury was 1-2 weeks
Whether it was a reinjury or a “reinjury” is the question

Not expecting massive things from Curran, he has a slight upside, hopefully he can bag a few attacking stats while Preston is sidelined. The main appeal is his DPP which will come in handy for the round 13 byeShady2K wrote:

The EDG position seems to be a bit of a wasteland this season, had hoped for some good cows, but they've all been pretty meh. That's why Hosking was such a godsend, and the rise of KPP is very nice.
DFifita doesn't have the greatest bye schedule over the origin period which kinda puts me off him atm.
Katoa's double last night was nice for those that picked him up, he wasn't really on my radar, and I won't be chasing his points. Lucas is an interesting option now Friz is sidelined, he may come into consideration

Angus if he gets good minutes, and Sorensen/Nikora once they drop cash for more edge options
Butcher and Bateman decent price points too

After last night's game, Papenhuyzen still averages 70 when playing the Broncos
So if they played again next week, you could still captain him with confidence

Robson the worst of the lot IMO. Left to get a permanent hooker spot because he was stuck behind McInnes. Who was promptly moved to lock
And then promptly signed with the Sharks.
Feels like we should have at least one of them on the books to this day, if the team was managed properly. Instead had a few years of Moses Mbye
