What is everyone expecting from McInnes? Dragons played a utility off the bench for most of last season and he comes with a pretty big price tag

80 mins of tackling with the odd darts from dummy half i am reckoning.
played six 80 minute matches last year for an avg just over 60
though I have no idea if he's gaurenteed the 80. what will people do if havili finds his way onto the bench?

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 2
Thoughts on Gutherson. He's priced at 36.5 av but with the gk & getting his hands on the ball more at half he could score in the 45-50 range. He's also a dpp hlf/wfb. I was going for Tedesco/T-Trbo but with Gutherson having great byes I'm thinking of going with Gutherson instead in the wfb slot. Thoughts.

Cons
All the same Gutherson played in the halves, Norman was out. Norman will be a more dominant half then Robson.
Pros
Gutherson will kick goals. he has a pre-season training as a half, and some junior experience in the position. The eels backline is pretty strong and could get some attacking stats.
I reckon he is a good choice

I'd be more concerned about Marketo, played the last 6 games in dual Hooking role with Rein last 6 rounds.

Cheers Feline. Just read a Eels blog & Brad Arthur was interviewed on Big Sports breakfast. His comments in response to pre season standouts as follows:
F. Pritchard was the first person he mentioned - he's showing a real determination
N. Brown was the second person he mentioned - brings aggression, silky skills, football ability, we will get more passing from the forwards in 2017. Apparently he was a half in his younger days.
Matagi was third - he'll be a real handful with the footy-runs hard
Gutherson was forth - fittest in the team.
Some exciting prospects there in the pack. I think we can discount F. Pritchard as I don't think he'll get many mins off the bench. Apparently Matagi will start & at 204k it's not a bad price. Apparently N. Brown will start on the bench & at 376k he really needs to be starting at that price. There was some chat wanting Brown to start a lock but Moeroa was named in the leadership group so I can't see him being dropped from the satrting 13. However BA has stated previously that he wants to run with an 80 minute hooker (C. King he said) so that means 4 forwards off the bench which means a 4 prop rotation & not enough mins for the likes of Matagi & Brown.

I heard Matagi was likely to get the starting gig, I'll wait and see to see what bench BA will put forward at Teamlists.
Looking forward to a good season for the Eels, hopefully they can leave the 2016 rubbish in the past.

Okay I'm trying to use my limited brain capacity to see the likely outcome of this. Does this mean he won't be in the 17 in round 1 as he'll be underdone/lacking fitness. If so Koroisau will likely play 80 mins. Also that means 4 forwards on the bench which means my Fonua-Blake pick will get less mins as I was hoping he'd be starting prop playing 50 mins so now he'll start & play 40 mins maybe. Thoughts.
If Hastings doesn't make round 1, he'll likely be in the team come round 2, or whenever he's ready. So I'd base any Manly team selections on the theory that Hastings is available

Sounds like dual Camerons in the hooker position for many.

Yeah twin cam for me
If any of the low price hookers surprise I'll swap McInnes out to upgrade other positions, playing it safe this year.
Unless the dragons play a bench utility and McInnes only plays 60 and doesn't rise in price much.
Seg is prob the second safest option if he comes in at under $300,000, because of score for price potential, I have my doubts he comes back and even if he does, I can see a price bump

Booze was on Sportal mate since 2014, but a little more low key. Now the bloke is associated with brilliance.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 2
I can't remember who first mentioned Austin (was it you SI?), but god damn you. I was thinking I'd have maybe a centre at most from them this year but now that the idea has wormed its way into my head I'm not sure I can get it out.
Looks to be running freely in all the training photos and I can't help wondering if his relatively quiet and injury effected 2016 will work in his favour as everyone focuses on the blokes outside who did all the damage and once again forgets about his dummy for the first half of the season....

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 2
Looking forward to seeing what DPP players we have this year, particularly the 2RF/CTR and HLF/WFB
Always a fan of working the system to get them in the volatile positions for some safe scores.
Haha Tohu Harris teased a lot of us last year
The other bonus of DPP players is that it helps for those trades early on.
Note: I will only go them though in their favourable position or not at all, ie Sione at CTR
Disclaimer: Will have to see how the $$$ stack up as players like Hayne,RTS look juicy and low risk so might not be a lot of room for these players
Typically go forward heavy but will depend on where the cows are at.
Will definitely avoid the trap of 'calculating minutes improvement and PPM' on mid rangers who look to step up due to injury etc
Get it wrong or screwed over by too much overthinking or theory crafting and it takes a long time to fix. But will admit it is fun
Cough: Grant,Evans,Ah Mau.
Looked great before the season started but quickly turned sour and got stuck with them of ages.
Feel In some teams it may be similar this year but need to look into this some more.
It may be safer to take players already established and pickup up these others 'risks' after a few rounds.
May cost you a trade and a couple price rises but at least you can have a look first.
And their price shouldn't sky rocket if you are only looking at small increases
