You think they are happy with how things played out?

Yes, they might end up with a decent sized contract, but that was going to happen anyway. And now these guys might be forced to play out the year in front of a fan base that is turning on them very rapidly.

Hopefully the Tigers can move on quickly. Plenty of good players available and we are cashed up. Not paying for Farah, Woods, Tedesco or Moses next year. Plenty of rom for a squad clean out. If we can get 1 or 2 decent signings in hopefully we won't be down in sucksville for too long.

So of all the talk of the big 4 you've probably only resigned the worst one. That must sting. What will hurt more is when Tedesco is absolutely tearing teams to shreds.

Tedesco going is the worst one.

He is clearly the best of the 4.

Woods and Moses are very replaceable with the off contract players on the market. Of course, being the Tigers, we won't sign any of those good players to replace them. but at the moment the Tigers are in a good position for a squad lean out. Funds available and good players available on the market to sign.

Are you guys still happy to have Brooks though? I actually don't mind Justin Hunt I think he is a decent FB. However due to being already 28 years old he isn't exactly a long term fix for the Tigers. I also see the reasoning to want to build your team up and focus on rebuilding than playing a few guys who have no intentions of being at the squad. You guys did the same thing with Farah, and allowed his toxicity to effect the team. At the same time I doubt those guys are anywhere near as bad as Farah and can definitely help the team.

Looking at guys off contract next year it will be interesting where they go. Widdop has looked great this year, you could maybe pick Benji up for for cheap, Josh Reynolds, Will Smith is off contract and he is decent, Shaun Johnson very unlikely but you could throw every dollar you have at him. Then there are a host of other guys like Ryley Jacks, McCrone, Cronk, Roberts. Plenty of options there with some decent quality. I wouldn't chase a FB this year. Resign Justin Hunt he would be more than serviceable if given the opportunity and either develop one yourselves or wait for another young bloke to impress.

OFFICIAL — Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that David Nofoaluma has signed a new, long-term contract with the Club!

Some good news amongst all the shit.

There is some thought that Brooks and Moses were not good for each other, and that splitting them up might be the best thing for both of them. Depends how much we paid for Brooks though really, but he could go OK with a different halves partner.

You already had a pretty good NRL team of ex Tigers that left the club, it's looking even better right now, even with Halatau retiring and Koriabete and Simona leaving the NRL:
    1. James Tedesco
    2. Josh Addo-Carr
    3. Bodene Thompson
    4. Blake Austin
    5. Blake Ayshford
    6. Mitchell Moses
    7. Benji Marshall
    8. Aaron Woods
    9. Robbie Farah
    10. Andrew Fifita
    11. Adam Blair
    12. Curtis Sironen
    13. Martin Tapau
    14. Isaac De Gois
    15. Nathan Brown
    16. James Gavet
    17. David Gower

    Coach: Tim Sheens
Assistant Coaches: Mick Potter & Jason Taylor

Centres are weak and bench is prop heavy, but I'd back that team to be pushing top 4 in the current NRL. I'll be surprised if the current team make it out of the bottom 4 this season.

I agree, I always found that they played better without each other.

You make it sound like the Tigers just need to press a button and these players will come over to them with no further questions

Roosters and Bulldogs are title contenders. They aren't going to release players to the Tigers just for shits and giggles.

Tolman is contracted until 2020, Graham until 2018. Its not like theTigers can just get them over.

But if the Tigers could organise a player swap of reasonable quality, I'm sure they'd be happy to let Moses/Woods/Teddy go

But the one thing they should not do is replace their best players with reserve graders out of spite.

The bulldogs are not title contenders. Adding Aaron woods does not make them a title contender either IMO.
Adding Foran does tho - which is the rumour at the moment.

Contracts mean nothing mate. If those clubs wanted their players this year - eg the Roosters - they would let go of players to get ted.

One thing they should absolutely do, is fuck off the blokes who dont want to be there, who have fucked the club over. Put them in reserve grade. 100%.
It wont happen, but I totally disagree with you on this.

Or maybe Cleary believes a contract means something? Another naive coach at the Tiges.

contracts are vaild when they want a player, totally useless when they dont.
Usually if a player doesnt want to be there, they are useless too.

Its a better 1-17 then the current Tigers squad, but theres no way in hell a team with 6/7/9 of Moses/Marshall/Farah is getting a sniff of the top 8, let alone top 4 in 2017.

It looks relatively impressive (taking into account I don't rate a lot of these blokes) when you write it down like that but in fairness if you did this for a lot of clubs I reckon you would also get a decent looking line up.

I can't be bothered actually doing the exercise but the Roosters for example would have blokes like Maloney, SBW etc.

Broncos would look poor but that is only because we are loyal to our players and they also don't want to leave...
