2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread Finals Edition Part 1

61st for me, couldn't quite scrape into top 50 (funnily enough, going Crichton to Gallen instead of Vaughan in the last round might've snuck me in if my maths is accurate), but that's just me being greedy, this year i've:

- smashed my personal best overall ranking
- finished top 100 for the first time
- won a sportal/FF league for the first time (L6)
- qualified for L1 next year for the first time

all of which is so far above the expectations i had for myself after a disastrous 2016 season and following off-season rugby league sabbatical.

thanks to every-one in the community for another fun season, don't think i'd have reached anywhere near these heights without the continued efforts of the guys who keep this place up and running, and the tips and tricks of people here that are much smarter than i

Disappointing Finish to the year. Despite being the No 1 Tiger in the official league for the past 6-7 weeks I have crashed out on the final hurdle and that is despite me posting a 1000 point week and gaining 9 places to 24th. Spewing, I could have done with some new supporters gear

I know some of you couldn't give a stuff about finals, so here are indicative 2018 prices to get you started.

The salary cap will probably change, but unless the scoring system changes, all the prices should rise by the same ratio.
the only exception is guys that only played 1 game. For this year they were all priced separately to the algorithm, and as such I would expect Greg Inglis to be more expensive that listed. Someone like Jesse Ramien should be cheaper than his 1 game would suggest though.

4 years have I played fantasy. The first year was just plain fun and I enjoyed how surprisingly good I got at it in a short span of time. Since then it was all an obsession to claim bragging rights over a community forum.

The time and energy spent on this game, the late nights where I spent 20 minutes mulling over trades and potential moves. All for naught in the end.

It was fun in parts and I enjoyed being able to discuss things here. This site led me to my best trade of the year (I think) when I got Joey Manu in as a POD cash cow. I was glad I could end the season on a high note and not an abrupt dismissal out of a brain snap. However like The Joker I am a man of my word and I did not fulfil my promise of victory so I must deliver and quit fantasy.

I don't know what I'll do now. Half the reason I even bother watch games is for the sake of fantasy football. A promise is a promise though.

When you're free Random if you could add in Mod Champion or Mod King to my name that would be delightful. Thank you peasants.

JBG, we all say things we later regret in the heat of battle. Especially when Ramesh so cruelly robs of a TB that was rightfully ours.

But I'd just like to say nobody will care if you renege on your promise, and come play fantasy next year.

Just had a look, I won the Titans league in VSDT this year.  As it turns out I would have win the Tigers league too, but too often I've had a score that would win a crap teams league but not good enough for the Tigers

Now to go and claim my $0 prize.

Also - to make B/L happy - Wacko won the Tigers league on VSDT this year.

Thumbs up to Milchcow for those price projections. I think the hooker position is going to be a big conundrum next year. Start with Smith again? Hmm....

Tough luck mate, I thought you had it in the bag for sure the way you were traveling. So close but so far and would be very frustrating but at least you got a taste of what it was like being the front runner for a while.

I got a small taste earlier in the year before the byes but then fell away.
