And to you my friend. Matt Lodge Broncos prop. Possible starter. Got arrested in the states for something and has been allowed back in.

Garvey is now at the Raiders & with Hodgson out for ages he will be starting hooker. Also worth noting the Raiders also signed Havilii so there is competition at hooker but I think Garvey will start.

Stupid question but why are we thinking James will be in the backrow instead of prop?

The new coach said he would. The Titans have plenty of middle forwards as it is so the idea was for James to play on the edge in 2018.
As noted above Wallace is suspended for the first 2 rounds so James may play prop until Wallace comes back.

Thanks lads. Was aware of the Hodgson travesty but only just reading the garvey stuff now. December 30 I was flat out hosting and drinking and eating and trying to remember all the FPL lockouts, so raiders news was not high on the agenda!

Great player write ups Welshyyyy. Arrow very interesting this year. Can play.

Lodge rose to fame by writing cunt on his wrist in an U20s match.

Had tonnes of off field issues.

Had to pay $1.6m in damages after going on a violent rampage in New York.

He's cheap though and many of us fantasy players can overlook dickheads if they get us some fantasy points.

Don't need to worry about AE nightmares.

And if 2 players are late withdrawals, you can get 2 subs (assuming you have emergencies on that position)

    DPP will be very important
We did think that with the last changes as well a few years ago. Then within a week or two someone had worked out how loophole the closed loophole.

I've had a look at the VSDT Lobby again and can't see a link anywhere for a 2018 team builder.

Will make cheap injury prone players slightly less risky now with the new 'insurance' plan. Ie Inglis/Hurrell/JGraham

Also good for cows that are still trying to secure a starting place (especially with coaches that like to play musical chairs), ie Souths CTR's last year
If they pull out last minute you are less likely to get burned especially if they play on the sunday

Great work on the player profiles Welshy cheer
Has anyone got any idea on Kane Evans' potential minutes this year?
I'm looking for a cheap FRF NPR for back up (under 330K). Looking at predicted team lists i'm down to A.Vete, C.Welch and K.Evans...
    any advice will be awesome.

I've got a bit of a soft spot for Evans. If he gets 2 stints a game he should make some good points and coin.

It is less risky on a week to week basis, as its a lot easier to replace them with a reasonable scorer if they don't play. And you don't have to worry about your dud cash cow giving you a shit AE.

Its a bit tougher from a cash building point of view, because with only 4 NPR slots, you can't afford too many of them sitting around not doing anything.

    An open bench of 8...
I just had a read of the new rules. The tricky bit is that there are 4 emergency players to cover 6 different positions and the interchange positions.

What happens if, Cameron Smith pulls out last minute Shocked and Garvey replaces him from the Interchange as the highest ranked replacement? I assume that my ranked number 5 emergency player (doesn't matter if he's not a Hooker) takes Garvey's spot on the interchange.

From a cheapie point of view.
With current standing I'd say these guys will be very popular.

    Canberra Hooker
    Bryce Cartwright
    Manly five-eighth
    Taane Milne

But its a tough choice between whether you have these guys in your 17 or spend a valuable NPR spot on them
For me Milne will either be a starting CTR or not in my team. Unless he can get himself DPP status I don't think I want to waste a bench spot on a CTR.
I think Cartwright will either be good enough to play in my 17 or not worth it at all.

Canberra hooker and Manly 5/8th have 2 of my tentative NPR spots at the moment. Perhaps not good enough scorers to want in your 17, but reasonable cash making potential

No doubt between now and March a tonne of other rookies will turn up to make the choice interesting
