Re: 2018 Brisbane Broncos Thread
My post was more about that in the media or here or twitter I just haven’t seen anything like what the Broncos cop after a loss. We lose to the Warriors embarrassingly it’s everywhere that we’re out of the 8 and Bennett’s lost it yadda yadda. But look at the dragons panthers and cowboys all have had terrible losses recently and cowboys have been terrible all year. Yet nothing!

Re: 2018 Brisbane Broncos Thread
So you haven't read the Griff has lost the dressing room ? That he and Gus are at loggerheads ? That Gus is coaching the team ? That the assistant coach is playing more of a role than you would expect ?
Would be tough to see anything in perspective being a two headed one eyed QLD & Bronco's supporter.
Out of curiosity, which head has the eye ?

Until you post haven’t heard any of that except that Gould calls the shots. That’s not something that needed reporting on though I thought it was well known

See how progressive the Broncos talent scouts are. Looking to make a bid for Sean O’sullivan And that game he played wasn’t even on free to air!

You should take that up with the QLD media who don't give a stuff about anything that isn't Bronco related.Mighty Fishes wrote:

Do you live in Brissy or close by MF? I found that when I lived there, they report literally nothing but bronco and maroons news, with tiny sprinkles of cowboys and titans news. You never heard a word about the NSW clubs.Mighty Fishes wrote:My post was more about that in the media or here or twitter I just haven’t seen anything like what the Broncos cop after a loss. The panthers stuff with hook has been well reported I thought, as mentioned, at logger heads with players - gus and him dont get along etc.
There has been lots of stuff about the eels and arther v norman, and so on.
I think one of brissys issues is that they field basically the same team and one week get pounded then the next week flog someone.
Also, lol to your scouts post

Thought you’d like that post mate.
Yeah I’m down more towards the Gold Coast and I rarely watch the news but the sports is all Broncos with a pinch of the titans and lions and sometimes Cowboys if it’s involving Thurston or Scott.
But even on twitter I follow various outlets and I barely hear or read anything related to other clubs apart from signings. Which makes me think it is who I’m following and reading because as you said yourself it’s well documented with Griffin and Gould. Also I have seen one thing about Norman possibly being shipped around but nothing with Him vs Arthur

*sigh* good lord this is dissapointing, I’ve never expected this place to be full of geniuses, but I was hoping simple concepts would be understood, especially when it’s people that have previously complained about the supposed advantages that we get from being front and centre as far as visibility goes, this isn’t far removed from that, the fact that my stance got boiled down to ‘we play on free to air’ is a hilarious oversimplification when I’m about to state for the third time that it is so much more than that.
when it comes to players advertising themselves, there is no better club to do that at than the Broncos, we are the biggest brand in the nrl, with the a constant national visibility in all forms of media, I’ve got fuck all clue what’s going on at Knights on a day to day basis, but every league fan in Newcastle knows what’s going on at the Broncos at any given time, and if you’re a star at the Broncos, you are at the forefront of nrl discussion, it’s the same reason why a pathway to origin is a reason stated by a fair few of our signings, of course QLD selectors watch all of the games, but playing well at the Broncos just means more,.
you can sit there and say players get payed according to their talent level, but in all forms of life, how something/someone is advertised absolutely affects their value, talent scouts aren’t the be-all-end-all of knowledge, talent scouts said Luke Brooks was the next Andrew Johns, talent scouts said Matt Moylan was the next Darren Lockyer, do you really think opinions they have on a player can’t be influenced by people around them constantly talking about how shit-hot he is with a football in hand? If having your name and image constantly put in front of people’s faces across a whole bunch of platforms didn’t persuade people into thinking you’re worth more than you actually are, advertising wouldn’t exist.

Yeah on the GC they mostly report on the Titans and in Sydney they appear to predominately report on Sydney clubs.
Similarly in Melbourne, after you get through all the AFL stuff, it tends to be mostly about the Storm.
It's fucken uncanny and I can't quite pinpoint exactly what the media is up to but I've got a theory it has something to do with trying to tailor their product for the market they are selling it in.....

Re: 2018 Brisbane Broncos Thread
In Sydney, you get a pretty even distribution in regards to reporting on what is happening with different clubs around the league.
In brisbane its as if no other clubs exist outside of those 3.
Is the GC news different to the brisbane news? lol no. Its still wally lewis or webke sitting there talking about the broncos

Mate it's not rocket surgery you daft simpleton.
The only reason you may get a fraction more Broncos news in other places is because we are the most supported team in the League (not just in QLD).
Plus you get a lot of media focus due to petty grudges from NSW media (e.g. Paul Kent) and also largely due to fan envy, which you'd be very familiar with.
That aside, the Sydney League media is still Sydney-focused
And yes mate, the 6th largest city in the country does have it's own media reporting....

Re: 2018 Brisbane Broncos Thread
As I said, sydney and NSW media have a more even distribution of news about other clubs.
Brisbane and QLD media only ever talk about the broncos, maroons, with a sprinkle of titans and cows and QLD player news. Its ridiculous. Anyone that has ever lived outside of brisbane and then moved there says this. Im not asking why, I dont know why you are attempting to explain it. There is no need for your explanation. I am just stating a fact. It an indisputable fact.
Also, I utterly destroy the 3 stooges in here in a consistent and regular basis, its fun and easy. There are also barely any other active threads that actually talk about footy, so yay, thanks bronco fans for 1. being on the forum, and 2. always being wrong (not all of you, just a select 3). If you guys were ever right I wouldnt have to come in here and correct you all the time.

And as I said (and also explained out of courtesy due to your well documented utter doltishness) that isn't actually the case.
Anyway I'm sick of trying to educate the forum idiot.....crucial game I feel for the Broncos this weekend.
Gonna be a close game but we need to start showing a bit of consistency (for at least two games in a row) and we beat the Sharks earlier in the year so I am hoping we have their measure.

Historically this is around the time of the year where they start hitting their straps too.Oz Sport Mad wrote:
