Great performance, qld had their moments but you could tell their spine just didn’t have the ability the previous one had
Speed through the middle with teddy and cook was the difference . The battle in the middle swung a few times but those 2 terrorised the qld forwards when we got on top and that was the difference
Teddy man of the match for mine
GI was great for QLD

Agreed Ice, Ted gets the accolades, but Cook was tremendous.

The whole NSW forward pack should get the 1 point. There was no standout because they all did their job exactly as needed. All of them made meters made tackles covered the inside balls worked well together and pushed up on every run.
The one thing I would work on for game 2 is the bend not break defence, I think with Slater back and a chance to game plan that backing off D could be opened up.

Honestly, I'm just not convinced about Cordner being an 80 minute certain selection. Lowest post contact to all run metre ration of all blues forwards, lowest metres per run I believe, yet 21 total carries, not tackle breaks, line break or offloads and the worst tackle efficiency of our forwards that made over 20 tackles. People will say he played a great role and will point to his carries,but to be honest, I thi k they are counter productive and Qld will look at that be happy for him to continue to do more of that in games 2 and 3.
Our backline aimed up, with only Jimmy the Jet maybe looking a little off the pace, ironically given his speed.
Perhaps TTurbo, who was great, into centre and cotric to wing in game two, but unlikely save for injury.
Cook though, Wow, he was great. The new FAC,or next Aus 9 at the very least based on that effort.

I was going to say half time, shame Cords is captain because he would be the only real forward option who maybe needs replacingIce wrote:Honestly, I'm just not convinced about Cordner being an 80 minute certain selection. Can't argue with his effort though

@ice
That’s harsh on Cordner have a look half his carries were when he was the only forward willing to take a hit up coming out of our end, the others were still coming back onside. He generally got a good play the ball on the end of it too

I haven't looked at the stats yet but I thought Cordner was solid? Is there a post contact metres to play the ball speed ratio?

Disagree on cordner, half his runs were tough early set runs when the other forwards weren’t even onside yet. Did the really hard stuff that you want your leader to do imo.
