No. It's 9 & 10 playing 7 & 8 which is wild because you don't know who will win and play 5 & 6 in the first week of the finals.

exactly its not a wildcard at all - its just making a playoff for sports 7&8 between 7,8,9,10.

I’d rather two leagues with relegation and promotion. The current clubs are artificially supported and really don’t have anything to lose.

it's not a wildcard. It's extending the ladder 2 places, and the finals an extra game or two.

Giving 9 and 10 a shot at finals was never in the plan of the Ice system. 7 v 8 in a knockout in week one IS a great idea, as is the Ice system. Seriously, who can argue with a system that rewards the top 2 significantly mOre than the next 4, then ensures the last two in the 8 have the toughest time with only 1 a chance of advancing?

If they insist on a top 10 (which they won’t), just have the old system the has when there were 20 teams in the comp pre super league and have two lots of the old 5 team McIntyre system.
