R13 trade poll - v1

Please read before voting so you understand implications of trading certain people in/out

Our team as currently setup is

Smith (vc)
Fifita Haas
Murray Tamualolo(c) Taupau
ARey Dearden
Nikora Bateman
Ponga Tedesco CNK

Rein
Mahoney
AFB
Young

Brittain
Havili
Xerri
Sivo

So for origin backups - pre any trades

Rein is set to play - I assume if we trade him out it will be for someone else who plays.
Havili is 19th man, but currently set to play as Young (suspended) and Brittain (outside top 17 for now) are ahead of him.

Dearden is in our 17. We can swap him for Sivo via Ponga DPP if we wish (and Ponga backs up)

If Brittain plays, we get his score
If Brittain doesn't play we get Havili's score

If Ponga or Teddy doesn't backup we get Sivo
If Ponga and Teddy both skip R13 we play 1 short

If Murray doesn't backup, we get Havili (or if Havili is already in, we get Xerri)


This includes Young as 17th man, we could very well trade Young out, but if Cook doesn't backup we may want to hold him for a week as potential loop for Brittain.

So given that trades may change based on who does/doesn't backup (especially Ponga/Teddy) let's work on an idea of trades

I think we want to trade Rein. Titans play late, so hard to wait on news of if Peats is going to start, bench, miss out altogether. And if we are doing Rein to McInnes as I suspect will be popular then we'll want to do that this week whether Peats plays or not

If we trade out CNK/Sivo then it has to be for another WFB, as otherwise we leave ourselves too exposed.


There will almost certainly be another poll after origin, but we can't afford to wait too long on news for who will backup, so best to get an idea now of what we want

How much bank Milchy?

$636k in the bank - we can afford pretty much anyone

Although obviously don't want to spend it all in one shop - we want to be able to afford Cook post origin.

I may not be up to date on post Origin situation, but my sense is that we wait for tomorrow's game to see where things are at.

I personally like Peats to McInness and Young to Milf (you'd think the risk of Milf getting an Origin Call up are now mitigated a bit). But those trades could change depending on who, if anyone, gets rested! Souths Knights will be key.

Tedesco looks like a strong chance to be rested. He had some sort of rib issue last night.
Not sure if that means we want Trbo/RTS or whether we play Sivo and CNK.
Obviously depends on Ponga too

I am liking an RTS pick up. It means long term we play Ponga in the HLFs and when CNK peaks we can swap him for a HLF or Trbojevic if we are happy with Ponga up there.

We gain a loop by keeping Young but would rather RTS score in there than Sivo/Potentially missing a scorer. The rest Rein (If he starts), Mahoney and such are fine to keep this week. So just the one trade. Then look at Rein -> McInnes next week

Wouldn't we trade out Young to get RTS. If we trade out Sivo/CNK it doesn't help our WFB depth much

That's what I was thinking. Young and Rein for CM9 and Milf/RTS. I don't see any reason to hold a trade until next week with Rein.

That is why I suggested Young as the trade out for RTS gives us depth, and flexibility. What are Reins and McInnes BEs? And how has Robson impacted him?

Rein 50 and CM 39. If we are going to get him in nows the time. In 3 games together Robson has taken 9 minutes off him once.

Yeah, I didn't quite think this through. It backsolves to my planned final team so the trade strategy that pops out just get to that point as well. I'm guessing this community team wont be the same as mine in r17/18 (and wont want to be tbh)

Although, I think we're fairly clear this week in terms of team needs (based on some assumptions). I'm picking both Ponga and Teddy to get a well earned rest - this means RTS becomes a big option.

Something like Rein and Young to McInnes and RTS would be my suggestion. Noting that these are the exact same trades that I'm making.

If one or both of Teddy/Ponga is rested then my vote would be RTS too although I's also be ok with TTrbo. That later is a risk due to injury and doesn't play 16 but fully fit I think he outscores RTS.

Either way, I think the point/consensus is we need a WFB if one of ours is rested.

Rein McInness seems the logical pick up. I also dont see any reason why we would hold on a trade this week. Making 2 trades gives us the best chance of maximising our week 13 scoring (and beyond)!

if you really want to you can. But I believe its better if people vote on their preferred options, rather than trying to game things by looking at what other people have done first.

We've only had less than half our usual vote tally so far, so things could well change over the course of the day too.

Thats a bit of a leap, lol! No thats not what I meant. I clicked on view results to see how voting was going, but I hadn't voted yet. Not trying to game anything. I wasn't going to vote until a bit more info came in, but I cant seem to anymore.

Yup Agree! Looks like Arey and Ponga both out so:

Milf (or the highest community rated half) is a must to cover the vacant half spot

and

RTS to cover the WFB spot.

Pretty much looks like our hand will be forced on both trades!
