Nearly Sport is another fantasy NRL game that not many people know about.

Has anyone played before or would anyone be interested in joining up in 2016?

I've been running comps for 7 years there and prefer it to the other games. We also play for prize money.

The scoring is a lot simpler and lower.
Each division has 14 teams and you bid on players so each player can only go to one club.

There are paid comps with prize money but there is also a free division for those that just wish to try it out for a season and see if they like it.

So it is draft style with a salary cap?

Is it only draft at the start of the game or each week?

There is a salary cap. Recruit at the start of the year through draft or silent auction.

Scoring is based on the old VNRL for those that played that.

Rather than giving players scores of 1-100 based on workload, forwards qualify for "forward tries" based on their workload. 1,2 or 4 points available for both attacking and defensive work.

We can easily setup a private comp for this site if people want to give it a go.

I certainly reccomend it. All my fantasy spreadsheets were originally created with this site in mind. It's only in the past couple years I've put serious effort into using them for official fantasy.

Sounds like a good idea, and is it easier to set up a private cash league?

May be a better option compared to Ultimate League.

Easy to set up a private league, and tweak scoring options as we see fit.

Just depends if the guys playing ultimate league want to switch to a new system or not.

I've been running comps through there since 2009.
I've currently got 4 divisions with promotions and relegations and it's expanding each year.

I personally have no interest in a cash League and as it was my first year in Ultimate and I nearly won our League Id like to have another crack and hopefully go all the way. So In short you can count me in for Ultimate but I think Ill have to pass on this one.

Still up for Ultimate League as well, really enjoy it.  Bearing in mind we had the 2 leagues (I know some players were doubled up) due to RuleGate2015, we would still fill one League you would think.

It would be my first cash league too.  I haven't even played any of the FantasyPro's and what have you.

I've opened up memberships for 2016 to Spider Nation which is the group website.
We play fantasy through Nearly Sport and also do tipping through footytips.com.
The top three divisions are full, 4A looks like it might also be full and 4B is beginning to fill up.

If anyone is interested in joining up then check out the website and feel free to ask me any questions on here.
There is also a free membership for anyone that want's to try out the fantasy side without risking any money.

2016 is going to be the biggest year yet!

No, it doesn't usually go active until mid February but I like to get sorted as early as possible since I've got to organise at least 6 divisions.

Oh that is fair enough. Well I am totally down for running an inclusive group between members here. Not so sure about joining another group as I already have 3 Fantasy groups at that time of year.

Yes for sure I have been joining public comps on nearly sport now for a couple of years. I love it. Well I like all fantasy comps but it is a good one bidding for players. Especially the first tsart of the bidding. Always keen the next day to see what players you picked up.

    Count me in!!

Any more people interested? I've also created a season guide specifically for Nearly Sport for anyone who is keen. 4B Division still has spots available.

4 days to go until Nearly Sport opens for 2016 and there are still a couple of spots left to fill in 4th Division for anyone who is interested. Your entry fee gets you into a division with prize money for the top three and a tipping comp with a weekly prize of $50. Let me know.
