That's the game - I think Roosters deserved it overall

I was hoping for Raiders v. Storm, but since Raiders beat them twice recently and Roosters are defending premiers, aswell as being fucking despised, I reckon it shouldn't be too hard to hype it.
I suppose, but grand finals are at their best when the two clubs have some some of connected history and pride at stake outside of vying for the premiership, Storm/Rabbits have played some classics in recent memory, the Storm/Raiders games this year have been incredible drama, and of course, as much as the thought of it made me vomit there's no need to state to rivalry of a Roosters/Rabbits game. The Roosters and Raiders have never really had much to do with each other, let alone in recent memory, there's an underdog story there i guess, but that's about it.

Yeah true, some history does light a few more fires. Hopefully can be the start of a rivalry for a couple of years or something.
About the only connections I can make between the two teams is Tedesco should've been a Raider
I think Brett Mullins played for both..

What the Storm do with their roster in these next couple years will be very important, if they aren't careful they could run into a similar problem to us when Cam Smith hangs it up, especially if they let Croft walk, they've got a lot of good footy players in their side, but Cam is the only organizer, when he's done, they could find themselves with nobody running the team.

Ricky Stuart is quite a connection.
Don't think those sort of stories matter anything like as much as the current ability of the teams on the pitch. Tonight was the best game of the season but nof because it was Smith vs Cronk or Bellamy vs Robinson or whatever. Next week should be a cracker too, although I do think we've just seen the real grand final in terms of who wins the lot.

It was a great game to watch, it could have gone either way. I loved seeing players step up to the occasion Corner, BSmith, Crichton, all playing like it was the GF.rhinoceroo wrote:

Roosters defence was on song which I believe gave them the W

Couldn't see a world cup union thread so thought I'd come here to preemptively check on my favourite fauxpom. I saw a certain bald truck announced retirement and I'm worried the upcoming loss today might be a kick whilst he's down. Its ok @weslhy you can jump on the Raiders bandwagon if you're looking for a win.

I don't watch much rugby these days, but I assume this is our 2nd string Wallabies team since we're against England's 2nds?

Too interesting articles to surface during the weekend
1. Cronk has played 9 GF's in 16 years, played more than he hasn't. So why is JT sprouted as the best half of the last decade or the next immortal ?
2. Remember when https://www.raiders.com.au/news/2014/05/27/canberra-raiders-sign-james-tedesco/?fbclid=IwAR32ZzwDmXkHr4os7L4eQel1gBvG0QhSZj6sTrG1ObkBvyE7mXuCqS4VC6w (This one's especially for @Archer )

Storm player found passed out on someones doorstep in Richmond on Sunday morning.
Do we know who it is yet?
Early mail is that it was someone who didn't play.

Storm have confirmed a player allegedly found on the doorstep of a Melbourne home has suffered facial cuts and is expected to be released from hospital today.
People are just guessing at the moment, with the front runners for "someone who didn't play" yet news worthy being Vunivalu or Croft.

"someone who didn't play" and different levels of newsworthy could also include Kata, Billy Walters, Seve, Harry Grant, Stimson, Vete or even big Tino.

Grand Finals are played by teams, not individuals. Mitchell Aubusson has also played in more GFs than JT (even played as number 7 last year) Doesn't make him the better player.

True but it's leading the team in a key position of the spine that gets the team there. Or Cronk was just lucky not to play alongside the crud JT endured ?
