They have so many decent forwards with big engines it makes me think they will carry Paix with very limited minutes for at least the start of the season. Maybe some weeks won’t even use him. I’m kinda intrigued by Turpin in that case, if he averages 70 mins he could score high 40s average. Maybe hoping too much there. I’m presently very optimistic/overrating the prospects of every hooker in the comp.
I'm not saying they should do this or they will but i wouldnt be surprised if they had Macca on the bench for the first couple of rounds. He has a lot of experience and might just offer 10-20 min breather to Turpin and also can fill in at lock if they want to sort of carry a "4th" forward on the bench.

Having a quick look at his stats:
9 games last year over 50min for an average of 31. Priced at 26 odd. But games over 60min averages bumps up to 45.
Panthers had a shocking season last year and Warriors didn't fair much better. I'm expecting similar performance for minutes.
The thing in his favour is Tevaga and Roache are out for at least the first month. Lawton will be out for the first few games. Only risk is Kodi being played off the bench and CHT plays in the halves.
Any other thoughts?
Avg 40.3 starting hooker, 7 games. Avg 36.9 in games over 50 minutes any position, 10 games. May only have a few weeks, so would need 4 scores of 45 and a 30 off the bench to make 150k before having to sell promptly. It's possible, but significant downside risk that he doesn't even if he get's the game time.

It is tricky. It feels very mid range, despite the value in so many of those guys. A few guys I want that I will probably have to bypass, and a few I'll need to pick that I don't particularly want to. Mind you, its January, and alot can and will change before round 1. A cheapie or two will emerge.
Starting Jake Friend instead of Cam McInnes makes a massive difference to funds...
My first draft felt a bit mid-range, but I'm pretty happy with the bones of the team. I just have to flesh out the 2RF, CTR, and WFB positions once there's a bit more info about starting roles. And I'll need about 5 sub $300k cashier to come in under the cap

Kearney said the other day that Lawton would be back for trials.
Additionally if they go CHT at six (they should), then Kodi would be bench utility and would get decent minutes youd think

Too much risk with Brisbane forwards and minutes, particularly Fifita. I see seibold mixing it up anyway with his rotation across the season.
Carrigan would be the safest bet for both price rise and steady points. In saying that I’ll probably pick Fifita cause I won’t be able to stop myself

Why do say Lawton will be out first few games?
I heard Lawton is in front to start, Egan has only just returned to full training after shoulder surgery. Egan offers something different off bench in terms of creativity and running game.
They will job share for around 40/40 with both edge 2RFs playing 80.

Yup - no way he averages any more than 35 for those first 6 weeks.

On David Fifita, it really wouldn't surprise me if Seibold has said to Fifita after the Bali incident and coming back to training a little out of shape, you will be starting off the bench this year and you have to earn your place and train your arse off!
It's a long season and even if he is coming off the bench for 55-60 mins he will score well.

Did Fifita only start playing 80 because Glenn had to move out to the ctrs? I didnt have many trades left by then so didnt take much notice

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 2
While Egan recognises that fellow Australian Karl Lawton is the current frontrunner for the job, he's clearly up for the challenge.
"I definitely want to try and lock down that No.9 jersey sometime during the year.
"[Lawton] has been playing some good footy at training, so it will be a bit of a battle between me and him.
"But wherever I need to fit in with the team, with the bench or whatever, I'll try and get my job done."

Egan hasn't had the chance to show his full wares on the pitch yet, with surgery in early December limiting his participation during pre-season.
Coach Stephen Kearney estimates Egan is about a month away from full-contact training, but he certainly likes what he's seen so far.

Pretty much. There was all sorts of problems in our side.
From a Broncos perspective, id love to see TPJ start at right edge and Fifita play a roaming impact role off the bench.

My bad. Last I read he's returning opening weeks which sounded like weeks 1-3. Must've been old info.
Sounds like there won't be much upside to him to warrant picking him.

He's played 12 80 min fullback games and scored more than 35 nine times. There's no way am I reading anything into the Titans draw and trying to extrapolate that out to Brimson points. Or any team/player draw. For two reasons.
Firstly, every season everyone thinks they have the season worked out before it begins. They don't. Even if you get close to predicting how all 16 teams go, how they get there will be way off.
Secondly, quick look at Brimsons fullback points shows no obvious correlation to how the team fares. His best fullback 80 min score was against the Storm in 2018 in a 10-8 loss, which on paper doesn't look like a game to score 70. Last year he hit 50 when his team scored 28 points, 20 points and 2 points. Losses by 12, 4 and 22.

They are just making sure it has the seal of approval. Because the bar has been set incredibly high over the past years, they have to make sure its quality

I would rather wait for an 90% functioning app than a 50% one like last year... Probably end up with a 30% functioning one though

I would have assumed the way Fifita ended the year Seibold would want him on deck for 80 minutes. I understand the thinking in not playing him 80 though.
