Questions over his scoring potential in halves because he’s isn’t a big kicker, if Holmes plays wing and Drinkwater FB he would of flown into all serious teams before start of comp regardless

We know Holmes is going to FB sooner or later, and not that later.

Clifford also played well in the 9s... Cowboys have a bit of a selection headache still.

One take away for me, from the nines .....and putting my coach hat on.......If I were Michael McGuire I wouldn’t be training Mbye in Hooker, I’d be slotting Billy Walters straight in !

Certainly went great in the nines, but what's his defence like? I haven't seen much of him, could he handle the middle?

I believe so, he looks solid in defence....decent passing game and quick. I’ll guess we will have to wait and see .

    Hello Random

But really, what value do you see in McLean, Molo, McGuire, and Wright?

McLean when playing between 50-60 minutes averages 51 points. So there is a little upside there considering his price of 45.

Molo has never played more than 40 minutes in a game.

McGuire is also underpriced by about 6-7 points when he plays more than 40 minutes. Which he should do, but he has been a little inconsistent. If McGuire was in the 2RF he would be worth a look, but when he came back after injury last season, and once Scott became injured he played Prop. He averaged 47 points in 7 games once he shifted to Prop last year while averaging 60 minutes almost. McGuire is priced at 44.8 points so you have to think a 3 point bump in average score isn't enough.

Wright is also interesting, he pretty much locked up a 2RF position towards the end of last year, playing 80 minutes in all but one game since Round 15 (He played 71 minutes in round 20) that is enough to get an idea of his scores in games he starts (10 games). He only had 4 games over 50 points. The 2 games he scored a try he scored 36 points. He also had a game he scored 17 points. Even discounting the 17 point game his average is only 45 points.

Broncos as a team didnt look organized, one out running, not putting the guys around them into space.

McLean is a stepping stone to Haas when he drops 100k in the first couple of weeks

So best case scenario McLean makes $50k or so the first couple weeks, Haas drops $100k so you hope in the first handful of weeks your cashcows peak so you can jump somewhere else and will have $200k around?

We always pick one of the mid rangers terribly wrong and there is always a near base guy that everyone missed. I can't remember a year I didn't have 200-300k available to spend by round 3

What am I missing with the drink water love? Played 7-8 eighty minute games for an average of 29 in 2019 didn’t he? Why will he be any better this year? I think he is shit but would like to be Convinced otherwise

I'll be honest I had no interest in him before the 9's

But he won't be playing FB where he had 29.3 AVG and will be 5/8 assuming Holmes is fit to start. Will have higher base from tackles and RM and will be closer to the ball

I brought him in, but not purely based off his performances, but also due to fact Mann pick doesn't fill me with confidence with how Lino returned from injury

Drinkwater was priced at $583k last year, and at this point in pre-season he was in almost as many teams as Papenhuyzen is in now.

So now he's down at $400k he is very tempting. He carved it up in 2018 and was one of the best players in QLD cup.
Last years scores weren't great, but assuming he plays in the halves, he'll get his hands on the ball a lot more and have better opportunity to rack up some stats

I've chucked up all the nines fantasy stats here
    https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/t1165-2020-nines-fantasy-stats

tbh, I haven't even looked at them myself yet, just cut and paste them, as I won't be using them to help me pick a team, but put them up in case anyone else wants them
