That's a really nice looking team mate, really nice.  I'm really warming to running Luai as my second half.

Thanks Wolfy! How you been mate? Will have to look back for your team to comment. Still got nostalgia from us captaining ponga on my birthday last year haha

Yeah in understand he’s boom bust but will fit my team model to have a few base pricers starting

Capewell might have to become the black widow with the story above! Hard to say no to when close to guaranteed starting

Fifita and Taupau can bang out an +80 score out of nowhere or slow start the season with a mid-high 40 average first 5 games. I'm erring on the latter

You’re not wrong! The right TLT conditions will likely see me drop at least 1 of them for a merrin, tatola etc. Wanted to try a strong FRF team with a high potential gun ratio (I’m including friend and pap as keepers) and don’t mind it too much

Want to reduce wasted trades on middies this year to help me go harder at cash making and byes

Yeah not bad mate. Really getting the itch over the last couple of days for the season however. Yeah, that was a good day. I just am bitter at Ponga for his last few weeks but that day was one of my proudest punts.

Yeah I've had a couple of cracks at a team, nothing really concrete and so much happening daily so will change.

I know he is coming off a surgery but will return for trials. A wait and see till then?

Right now everyone is worried about his knee.

If he plays trials and looks fit then he'll start appearing in more teams

I don't have a lot of confidence in Sitili Tupouniua being able to play 80 mins.

I still can't believe he is a forward. He looks like he is going to break his neck everytime he runs the ball or tackles.

Good to hear! Yeah a few horrific team performances didn’t help! The tigers and panthers games were disgusting to watch.

Yeah exactly. I would say the constant changes do have me feeling like I’ve analyzed A LOT of players and gradually find the closest thing I can to the best value teamwork

Priced at 46 he appears tackle bot without much TB or offload game. Where is the value on edge?

Drinkwater is the main new bandwagon after 9's

Major fantasy relevant injuries include: McInnes (may miss R1), Jurbo & AFB likely return dates of R3 & R4, Lowe (in doubt for R1)

Not a big fan of Smith, JMK, of Mikaele's fantasy prospects (not bad, but I just dont project thme to be as good as other options).

Grant, if you pick him is wasted if he's not in your 17.

By making that swap you automatically free up money to perhpas upgrade Mikaele and/or JKM to better things.... perhaps a gun half (Cleary Moses seems to be the go to) and maybe one of the middie FRFs (Mofo, Knight Merrin).

Also, dont like the make up for the 18-21. Someone else posted, and I agree, cheap FRFs and 2RFs that arent good enough to make your 17, tend not to go that well. I prefer to stack those spots with at least 3 backs who on their day could hit a couple 50s in a row and make serious coin.

To be perfectly honest Im not one for actually building teams at this point of the season as one dominoe falls (and the reality is 20 probably will) by TLT and you have to start all over again. Best just to analyse the players by position, or if you are as crazy as Steve Nichols was about fantasy, analyse the players by team Smile

Then come TLT life will be much easier.

But if you dont tinker with your squad 1001 times before lockout, you wont be able to say "damn and i had *insert round 1 big score player* in my team in pre-season"

Ben Marlin wrote:I like Brandon Smith

He is priced at 35 and averaged 44.2 in his final 11 games of last season.

If C Smith or Finucane pick up an injury, I could see B Smith getting 60+ minutes and 50 to 55 points.

If not he looks to be very safe, earning about $150k with potential to be a gun if injuries occur.

He also has the bonus of no origin

I guess it depends on the minutes he gets - same as the end of the season, or same as the start? in any case I wouldnt say its a safe $150k, more like thats what the ceiling is based on upside role. I guess its fair enough on some level to give players a bit of an edge when doing analysis if they could benefit significantly from an injury, but what are the chances? I'd say its a pretty small bump, and one you'd have to give to quite a few people too... I'd probably avoid that to be honest.
