Initial team criteria

What rules shall we enforce as to who goes into our squad.

Last year we had started only. Blake Lawrie was the only useful bench player who we could have picked (and its no guarantee that we would have picked him in our squad even if we did allow it)

We can stick with last years rules or open it up a bit

Because we won't know for sure who on the extended bench will play - have given 2 possibilities.
Either assume those named 14-17 are the preference and allow for them only, or open it to anyone named TLT

You can vote for naming anyone, even injured players or rookies who miss round 1. Although even if this vote gets up, i am not sure there are any players not named round 1 who would be popular enough to make the initial team anyway

One vote for top 17. There is a slight chance that a benchie will be worth grabbing, and they can be culled anyway if not popular. I would personally strongly oppose selecting someone who isn't named.

I haven't voted yet but the question I am asking myself, what are the odds a useful benchie who we expect game time from will be named in 18-21

Walters or Magoulias could both be named 18-21. Do we want to exclude them on that basis if they get jersey 18?

I don't think anyone with 0 prospects of playing will be popular enough for it to be a concern of deliberately picking a non-player

I'd generally think players named at 14-17 would be cheapish slow burn forwards. Can we afford slow burn or rather take a chance on a cheapish starting back and hope they bang out a couple of alright scores to make faster cash?
If someone like Musegrove or Magoulias starts to show promise they would still be cheap enough to trade in, but of cause if we start with them it would save a potential trade?

Last year we had a 1-64 chance of jagging the one guy 14-17 who may have been relevent

I would very rarely consider a bench player for my own team and this year is no different
