Middles - all of them off for the sharks and wow, the replacements all really good. Rudolf has good hands and looks a real handful. He will for sure be a high PPM man, just a difficult matter of getting minutes. Royce Hunt will contribute to that difficulty as he was excellent too. Ran strongly and saw him offload well on at least 3 occasions. Uele as well still looks like Fifita 2.0. Outshone for mine by Rudolf and Hunt, but did still break tackles with each run

Taupau - wasn’t crazy energy Marty, but was straight 40mins Marty. Stayed out there and likely a sign of the times with them having a couple of big forward absentees (notably Jurbo) to start the season. He needs to be on radars if coming into a clear uptick in minutes.

Fullbacks - I praised them after 20mins and Kennedy was still good, but Metcalf a liability. 2 bad errors - one knocking the ball on out of dummy half in his own half and the other and pressure less forward pass into touch when attacking the opposition try line.

Levi vs Brailey - Brailey fine but round 2 goes to Levi. Might be a prick but he’s also a greedy one, which is fantasy gold. Liked to scurry, put himself about and scored a try going himself out of dummy half. Given their lack of stocks in this position he might just be worth wearing the demerits (ie missing tackles and conceding the odd penalty)

John Morris experimenting in this second half. Started off with Tracey playing hooker then switched to Mags mid half. Also Jack Williams has been on for a while in this second half - has the motor to play big mins

Franklin Pele is a weapon, and came through the grades with Xerri at Endeavour and Australian Schoolboys. Still young but one to watch
Went well in the last trial match and scored a strong try in this one .
Some highlights, but not really fair with his size haha. Interesting to see how he goes with some extra gametime with the Jets this year

Not as much to report and not much change.

Katoa remains the best outside back on the field but they need to find a place manly for Miski in their own. Introduced this half and picked up where he left off at 9s.

Magoulias is a fixture in the template, but i don’t really get it, especially if this is going to be his role. He rested Brailey as a pick up and pass hooker. No interest in a non running dummy half. Don’t be seduced by his try assist as he passed it to some 150kg kid 5metres out. He’s Poor man’s ET and that’s Elijah Taylor reference not Andrew Ettinghshausen! Prefer Rudolf if looking for 18-21 cronulla cheapie forward

Rudolf stayed out there and looks awesome. His bench place can’t be at risk. Looks a powerhouse and his aggression turned into a try as well. Williams returned this quarter while Fifita and Woods stayed off. Hard to think they won’t be a bit underdone, if that 20mins is the extent of their only trial.

What’s the go with mago and siro for bunnies? Scored well in trial, likely to get any minutes though? Scores inflated by trys

All the kids must have come on as I don’t recognize a player out there. This Schuster for manly looks ok if he can ever pinch a spot alongside DCE later in the season

Rudolf was always going to be the beneficiary this year, Magoulias is up against Tracey for the utility bench role so there is every chance he doesn't make the 17 or gets little gametime.
And to be fair Tracey has been far more impressive the past 2 games and also the 9s

Unsure how the pack will go but Fifita may not be needed to play huge minutes with Woods and a decent bench who can all play big minutes too
Morris may want to manage his knee so 45-50 mins might be the more standard time going forward.
55-60 pts is probably about right though will really depend on that knee as it's not 100% still

Pretty much last years Newtown Jets out there at the moment

Yeah if Blayke Brailey is gonna get 50mins is he worth it? I’d say no.

I've been guilty of toying around with some AFifi drafts this preseason but not having David who can hit the century mark, averages 57 as a starter and is owned by nearly 40% of the comp is definitely borderline crazy
