NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 16 - David Fifita broke Valentine Holmes ankles

Should have played Walters or Luai over Wakeham.

Shocking start 8 for 373 and captain done. Cold cockles.

What a night of action was this one. Sorry for my late crabby pointless post, but I watch most my footy on catch up TV (young kids) and just finished now.

Jeez the Broncos looked good. Shouldn't surprise me with so many Fantasy selections in there, but I tipped the Cowboys and looked foolish. Apart from Oates, Broncos look sharp from 1-16 (minus Oates). I'd be pretty excited as a fan.

The best part of the day for me - Hampton's 44 (just noticed it went up from 41). Gotta say, I'm pretty stoked with that. I had Wakeham sitting in my reserves until I realised I had no CTR/WFB cover at all. Wanted a bit of leftover cash for next week so I went with Hampton over Watkins and Shib. Watkins will probably be a stronger long term option, but pretty happy with my Hampton pick for now.

The Horse. I was left with either going with Tolo/JTB or Horse/L.Leilua and I went Tolo (and now probably Kerr). I'm happy enough I went with Tolo but I went with Horse in VDST & Supercoach, which I'm trying out for the first time this year. He and Guler look pretty sexy for next week.

Other boring comments;

I actually hardly noticed D.Fifita until that try - surprised to see he scored so high overall, but jeezus wept did he prove why he was a must have. I lost my $$ League completely at his expense last year and decided then and there I'd not be without him, within reason, from then onwards. What a monster.

Isaako - madness. Looked a little bit like a must-have but just curious if anyone has the stats on what that try alone scored?

Croft owners - well played. He looked real good tonight. Milford still putting up plenty of kicks, but Croft looked good elsewhere for sure.

Carrigan solid. Reminds me of Cameron Murray in some regards.

Holmes looked rusty to start with but proved that if that calf is nothing serious, he'll be a good option. Had him in my team for the majority of the pre-season, but very content without him after seeing him limp around all night. Will be interested to see how that plays out.

Drinkwater looks very likely every time he holds the ball, but I must admit I was surprised to see he'd scored as well as he did. I was prepared for much worse. Looks likely, but Morgan is as dominant a half as any (just doesn't score as well in Fantasy, generally, as the other fellas). Will be interesting to see if Drinkwater retains his position or if they change things around a bit.

Hampton - he's a loose, loose young man and will probably score 8 next week, but for the moment I'm happy I went with him for that CTR/WFB cover. For a winger in a losing side, he definitely wants to get involved and I like his tenacity, if nothing else. Couple more 44's and I'll be his biggest fan.

Hess - don't have him in Fantasy but think I ended up going with him in both VDST & Supercoach. He looks as big a dud as last year. Early days, but not into him at all. Again, though, only very early days.

George Williams - again, don't have him in Fantasy but do in the other formats. I guess that gives a bit of clarity as to his price tag... for me anyway. Looks very likely.

Bloody Horse. Will be well beyond my grasp next week, but well done to whoever took the plunge.

Guler - will he maintain those minutes? I said last night I wouldn't budge on Stimson (if he keeps his starting spot) but I am very sure I'll be tempted to swap him out for Guler if it looks like he can maintain those minutes. He just looks like a good footballer.

Watkins - I bypassed him for Hampton for EMG/CTR cover, and I'm initially happy with Hampton, but Watkins looks pretty decent as a genuine centre option. Might end up regretting that move in the long run.

So the biggest downer so far is that I have Stimson @ 14 and Hampton @ 21. Ouch.

Anyway, sorry for that pointless dribble. Just my take in the aftermath. Rest easy.

Did anyone notice Sami went from 50 odd at the end of the game to 71, did they miss a hattrick or something haha

Yeah wow he was 54 I think at FT, that’s a big upgrade. Some massive swings in the score adjustments tonight.

I’m struggling so far, but on reflection I retract my initial regrets on Horsburgh - couldn’t foresee that role. Based on the info he’d be on the edge, wasn’t worth it.

More annoyed I missed Guler, who is up to 55(!) - did look at him this morning, and had exactly 18k in the bank to upgrade from a 246k player to him. Ignored the sign. Was worried when Sutton is back he loses minutes but guessing not now.

I also didn’t have Haas and Fifita because I’m dumb. I had my reasons, just not sure they were good reasons. probs regret no Fifita more than no Haas.

Fifita won’t score 70 metre 4TB tried every week. I do think Haas could see 70 minutes a week (80 tonight possibly due to injuries/rotations)

No he wont but would of scored around 50 without it which is above his priced average. Any big games like today is why people have him, his 80 minute game average is HUGE.

I was all about Guler, just couldn't see him getting minutes. Wish I'd looked harder.

Yeah that one's huge. I noticed last night To'omaga went up 8 or 9 and thought that was big... But, yep, big leaps tonight.

Yeah mate. My captain scored 104. Not bad for costing me 430k. Did you captain Haas for an extra 30 points and 570k? Yeah im sure that'll be worth it in the long run! Enjoy rightfully having no votes Randomsil

Pretty happy with Carty considering the number of demerits he had in that game (I know they are a base stat for him). Party on.
