Here's the official response to trade-a-palooza complaints
The 2020 Covid-altered season has thrown up some challenges that required us to make adjustments to the game particulars. We purposefully minimised these prior to the Round 3 recommencement to maintain the character and game-play of NRL Fantasy as best we could.
The significant adjustment was to the number and per-round maximum for trades. Our rationale was to adjust proportionately with scope to alter if circumstances required. Since then we have had a few weeks of play and seen the results, we believe those circumstances are happening now and have decided to make one further alteration as we believe it reflects a better overall level of trades for the updated 2020 season without any significant disadvantages. Adding two(2) extra trades to the season total, with four(4) max in Round 8 is the best and most-fair way we have to do this.
The unforeseen levels of injury interruption have shown our initial trade reduction to be slightly too big, so this additional small adjustment is being made as thousands of teams have been unable to field 17 the past two weeks through no fault of their own. We believe that those teams who were fortunate enough to avoid that fate are not being disadvantaged as they can use or bank the extra trades to shore up their advantage.
We are aware that, although small, it is a significant change and that, despite our explanation, some will feel righteously aggrieved by it. If that is you, we ask you to give us the benefit of the doubt. We hope that time may well prove us right.
Thank you for being passionate about NRL Fantasy. Good luck with the rest of the 2020 season and please stay safe.
