Forum run 9's fantasy

As there won't be an official fantasy game for then 9's, anyone want to run a simple forum one.

I'd be happy to run a simple one here where only real points count (4 point and 5 point tries, and maybe 2 point conversions)

Just get a bunch of us together, draft a team each once squads are named and go from there.

When are all teams going to be announced?

With 10 people drafting its going to take a few days to draft a squad, so we might have to start the draft earlier.

Here is my proposed rules

1. Draft 10 players each

2. No positions or salary cap - draft 10 fullbacks if you want

3. Only score points for tries (4 points) and bonus tries (5 points)

3b. No points for conversions (thinking this might be a little hard to keep track of - might not watch every game and not sure if it will be easy to track down afterwards who took the kicks)

4. If one your players withdraws before the start of the tournament (either due to injury, or because we drafted before teams were announced and he wasn't selected) you can replace him for free with any undrafted player, as long as the new player is chosen before the tournament kicks off.

5. If one of your players becomes unavailable during the tournament - either due to injury, or because their team gets knocked out, then that is just tough bikkies.

7. As a prize, I will donate a season of fantasy assistant coach, to be used on one of Fantasy, Dream Team or Supercoach (on the proviso that the cost remains ~$20 a season, I reserve right to modify the prize if the prices get jacked up)


Willing to listen to suggestions on any of the above.
We could perhaps allow a mini-draft on Saturday night to allow players to swap out some duds and pick up the forgotten gems.
We could also increase the number of players drafted, or add in positions and make people pick a few forwards - to as many as we want without making things too unwieldy

Any suggestions put them here anmd we can try and start a draft in the next few days.

If you can sort with the participants a day/time we could all try and be on for, we could hopefully clear through a lot of rounds

I did PM you saying I would not be participating in this comp however it still appears in my outbox and not as a sent message? I also PMed you regarding a certain Fantasy League also.

Draft 10 players, no positions.

No time limit to start with, one will be introduced next week if everything is taking too long.
If you know you won't be online for a while due to sleep/work/life please consider PMing a list of a few picks to someone else on the list.


Teams are expected to be released on Wednesday, so we'll be drafting players not knowing if they'll actually play or not.

Deliberately not picking in anticipation of a team being named will result in a paddling.

I'm hoping we'll finish the draft by TLW (team list Wednesday), in which case we can then hold a supplementary draft in the original order for everyone to replace any non-selected players

If an official team is released during the draft and you have drafted a player from that NRL club who didn't make the cut, when it comes to your next draft pick you can release that player and make 2 new picks.
Officially released teams only and only once per draft round.


Only tries will count for scoring, so load up on props.

Robdog can make his pick whenver he sees this and we can get things going
