I bought him, expecting him to keep him and not take cash later on. Was more hoping he was probably one of better JS cashouts available and for him to be green dot for foreseeable future barring injury

There has been talk about Raiders wanting to buy/loan forwards but they're going to have to do it quickly because top 30 is finalised 3rd August. I can't remember where I heard Walters being mentioned, but Tigers would deadset be crazy to even think of loaning him given he's getting gametime due to a random dropping

So are peoples teams pretty much settled now?

See a lot of cash outs but some still chasing the late cow too.
Are some trying to finish there teams still with the perfect 17 hoping for some late game moves while playing questionable cows?
I understand the NPR cash out with maybe a luxury out later on, but notice some are looking to play these each week so got me thinking.

Figured the 4 trade week sped up the final 17 process and given the big scores the past couple weeks this might not be the case, instead popular players on average scoring well
Guess people went different ways with their team more than I thought 2 weeks ago

A weird season for timing, feels like round 20 but we still have another 10 weeks to go
Just curious to see where others are at or thought process

Or settling for next tier down and spreading the cash to give less volatility for scores each week?

I'm close to my "final" team but still banking trades where I can.

At this stage it's looking like a late season Teddy (Papy, RTS, Ponga will go close enough in the mean time) and probably no McInnes/Smith and Tevaga/Fifita tier over Matterson. Aside from that I'll be at pretty much the best side I can get for the run home with 6+ trades for injuries

I don't really know if "final team" is the right word because I'm expecting carnage in the last month or so with players getting rested. Will be trying my best to not kill off any positions intentionally, though I still have that muppet wiliame

Being able to sideways trade in the last few weeks could be key to some big rankings moves. People racing towards what they think is a final 17 as if injuries and suspensions aren't fucking with teams every week as it is.

I'm fairly reluctant. He'd be a good cow if I was 100% sure I'd have the trades to sell him later. But not being certain, I'm not prepared to hold a 5th or 6th HOK in 18-21 and essentially limit my EMG injury cover this early.

I'm still one short and Angus makes that even harder. Thinking of going Wiliame to Aubbs next week for some extra coverage. Can fill in while Angus out, play at centre whenever Cordner or Angus are rested, and at worst helps me avoid a zero if all other players are out. With trades running out, improving depth might be better than selling Angus for me.

I feel I was racing (Ponga traded in at 861k hahah), but have put the brakes on a bit now as it dawned on me late trades may be even more useful than usual.

Having said that I think the overall winner is the one person out of hundreds who has raced to their 17 that manages to avoid all future injuries. Skill early then mega luck late.

I'm still a few short of the ideal 17, but I try to spread the cash a bit with some "next tier down" players and get a good team balance, avoiding too many red dots and having cover for most positions.
At the moment I'm running with:
    Grant
    Haas, SST
    Yeo, Leilua, Fermor
    DCE, Cleary
    Lomax, Niu
    Teddy, Papy, Ponga

    Koro, Macca, Carrigan, Fogarty
    Young, Herbie, HTF, Averillo

140k ITB and 9 trades left.
I'm looking at getting NBrown in the team next week to balance it out.

Not sure im in a position to "get to a final" rather my final team will be served up to me.

It 100% will include players like Tapine, Best, Crichton because ive run out of money and trades.

Any chance Hetherington benefits from Paasi going home?

Want to flick Wiliame to him so I have coverage to move Carrigan into starting 2RF and get rid of Young & Luai for Ponga & Starling next week.

Otherwise might get Sironen/McIntyre and at least cover 2RF

At the moment I have 12 trades and Young, Luai, Fogarty, and one of Niu/Talau (other stays as WFB/CTR cover) on the out list. Maybe HTF if he actually starts making money and hopefully Wiliame. Figure I can afford 1-2 more cows to leave me 4-5 trades covering injuries.

Nice, have seen your team and you look pretty sorted too and overall
Makes sense having the next tier down player (IE RTS) long term than running a cow waiting for the late gun.
I went that way with my halves/centres but interesting to see where people have opted to run their cheaper players

Playing overall means consistent points for a long time should work out well, RTS was a solid choice for some needing that 3rd WFB given his cheap price.
Also nothing wrong with a few luxury trades at the end, injuries will probably dictate this for most so would imagine settling in with what you have now.

You know what you are doing regardless but maybe helpful for others reading this

    __________________________

I will be running with 6 for injuries with allowances for McCullough,Robson,Johnson,Hunt that could all be upgraded to the next tier if I have a good run.
Basically 2 luxury upgrades depending on how they go in the future not allowing for injuries
Probably need 100-150k needed for this (Trading one of Fogarty/Crichton to do this if needed)

Was set after the 4 week trade (Which pushed my final 17 moves weeks in advance) so the recent trades since then you could call luxury one
To me the earlier the upgrade or complete your team is then the more points gained in the long term (Like coming out of the byes)

I opted to spread the cash going for 'good enough' players or mid rangers that you wouldn't mind finishing the season with (McCullough/Murray/Robson/Taupau/Johnson/Hunt)
Consistent enough under priced players than can go large on their day
Rather than mucking around with cows these players aren't necessarily POD's but owning most of them in the same team is.
I always trade hard so I figured If I ran out at least I would have a 'decent' 17 so hopefully decent depth meaning consistent scores.

Yep ran some numbers and RTS (50x11 weeks) should beat out Hammer(20x5 weeks) + Teddy (60x6 weeks) over the long term. Plus I can splash that extra 400k moving on from Crichton, Young and Fogarty. I imagine most will end up with these guys stuck in the 17 where I'll be replacing them with Ponga, Tevaga and Munster/Moses tier players

I keep coming back to the idea of a 50 average for 11 weeks being better than a 60 average for 6 weeks

Would be great as bought him 2 weeks ago but don't see it making a difference. Played 42mins vs Broncos with Passi 31 mins but 16 men after 4 mins
Last week played 32 and Passi only 19 mins in 2nd half
