browsed a few of the teams at the top of the comp. the bloke that was leading pretty comfortably a couple of weeks back has now dropped to 3rd.. he still has Paix and Niu, so I wonder how low he is on trades.

couple of those other teams have a few questionable guys, get the feeling a lot near the top are pretty low on trades.

winner this year could really come from the clouds with a big final month depending on who gets rested. we've mainly been thinking about players from top 4 sides being rested, but if a side can't finish higher than 5th/lower than 8th with two weeks to go, then some of their players may get rested too.

My mate has stormed into the top 20 with more trades left than me. Currently sitting 12th with cash to grab a Teddy or Cook this week.

A lot of teams at the top are in a similar position of lacking depth but possibly having trades left

Milchcow wrote:I'm sitting at about the same rank as you mtb.
We've got similar teams, but I only have 4 trades, so you have a bit of an advantage there.

So I am tossing up whether to use 2 trades this week bringing in guns and go for it hoping for a good run with injuries, or just play it safe and hope for a "good" ranking.

But I can go into this week with a team that includes Cook, McInnes, Haas, Taumalolo, Cleary, Teddy, Ponga
with a 17, 18, 19th men of Fogarty, Nikorima, Sironen  (Or Brimson instead of Nikorima) and no CTR cover for Talau/Crichton.
That would be carrying Munster, and only 2 trades for injuries

I can probably make it into the top 10 if I make the right choices (ie not having injured players), but without hindsight can't know who to pick beforehand.

Anything can happen in these last weeks. I made some massive gains this week with a monster score.
I'm only 200 points behind the top 10 now, which isn't out of reach, but still feels like a big gap with a lot of top teams scoring 1000+ every week.

I'm going to have another look at Pearce this week before pulling a sideways manoeuvre, as has been said he didn't lose any KM just missed a shitload of tackles (while not making many in a lopsided game).

It's the old sideways trades that help you climb from here

I have a dynasty league on NearlySport, and my team is killing it this year
435 points scored and only 135 conceded.

Just waiting for everyone to get injured so I die in the finals (Munster, AFifita, DSaifiti, Twal, Capewell currently on my injured list)

I’ve been in a 12 team draft league on Nearly since about 2010 - you get to keep 5 players through a series of convoluted rules and we plug in players at prices set based on rounds rather than the auction system.

I won it in 2015 but came from 6th. I’m usually in the middle and relying on a fluke finals run - there’s 2-3 guys consistently in the top 4. But this year I’m 13-0. I think the faster games are favouring forwards and I usually go forward heavy.

Also in a few other comps on there and played on and off on NRL CEO over the years but that’s my main one I care about

    This is wildly optimistic.

I'm just hoping to only require 2 trades available to me, rather than feeling like I need way more.

The concerns with Pearce were that he would lose kick metres with Green around which wasn't the case. He is still the same scorer he was before the signing which was a borderline keeper. He is a hold IMO

Lucy, Murray and Yeo all seem to be borderline keepers as well with Murray(edge) and Yeo(minutes) having concerns about viability moving forward.

I'd probably look at 2 trades to improve depth moving forward. Crichton to Moses moves Sironen to 18th man. Hammer>439K or less to get you some decent coverage leaves you with a better 17, decent 18th man and backs coverage with someone like Campbell Graham/Hiku/Mbye/Boyd/Dugan

This leaves 4 trades for injuries to hang on until the wheels fall off
Mate I only have one hooker though.

I may take Camo’s advice and go with S. Crichton to Tevaga. I’d then have to look for a cheaper alternative though for WFB/centre coverage. Pompey is one I may look at.

Question on team setup: Tevaga is my HOK cover and Carrigan is my FRF cover, but I need one to start in 2RF so can't have both covering from the bench.

My thinking is Tevaga start and Carrigan bench since Carrigan covers 5 positions (3x 2RF, 2x FRF) to Tevaga's 4 (1x HOK, 3x 2RF). Does that make most sense?

I could start Siro 2RF I guess, but I'd rather loop him with Talau.

Setup your bench week to week, based on who you think is more likely to be required as cover. If there is any doubt over any of your other HOK/FRF/2RF then set up bench accordingly

As you say leave Cardigan on the bench as Broncs play early most weeks, then you just have to keep an eye on team lists to quickly shift Tevaga out for Siro if you need hooker cover. Not ideal as you are flying blind after Jazz plays but.....

Haas fullback the most likely out of those Razz

My main questions for this TLT are:
    - Is Lomax good to go?
    - Is Flanno back? (SST owner here)
    - Is Siro still in the no 12 jersey?
    - Is Averilo back?
    - When does Haas get FRF/WFB DPP?

    POI's for me this week:

CNK 565k- I'm looking at an extra WFB who can put up a solid score, Charnze showed some form this weekend and the Green Machine has some good games coming up. A bit pricey though.

AJ 469k - Brimson probably had his season high this last round, but looks like a good option for WFB cover. He was in my 1st draft before the start of the 2020 season.

Tommy Talau 427k - it's 2020 and we all know that there is a need for CTR cover, he also provides cover for WFB and looks like a less risky prospect than running HTF in the 17 when Teddy, Ponga, or Papy are rested.

Nikorima 429k - Kodi looks like one of the better options to fill that 17/18th men spot for the run home, I'm sure he still has a 30 in him at some stage, but he should put some reasonable scores on the board

I know this is one of those crystal ball questions but what does your gut say, Moses or Jtrbo to score more in the run home?
