Gotta feel for the bloke. Was probably set to make his origin debut this year and now will likely come back too late to impress for next year. Essentially going to cost him two years of rep footy.

Hopefully he is close with Jack Bird and he helps Staggs deal with it from a position of experience

I'm extremely suprised by all the Staggs origin talk, I thought our centres were guaranteed to be Wighton and Turbo? Am I missing something

I think it was just all the speculation about Turbo maybe not being fit enough.

100k to pay him out, probably at least 100k to pursue the case in the first place... how much time and money do they waste with unjustly arrested and prosecuting not-famous people too?

NSW police commissioner had some sympathy for the officers. Just like when the bloke who dropped a cuffed kid on his face was "having a bad day".

He seems like someone who is way to close to the politics - he often makes public comments prejudicing cases and trials still in progress, cosy with certain "friendly" media who get drops in returns.

Yeah I dunno if you risk Turbo based on 60 ordinary minutes of footy in 4.5 months. He's good but he hasn't earned that kind of loyalty. The problem is that centre is a difficult spot to fill - despite, or maybe because of, its important in defence there are a bunch of flawed candidates. Maybe just give Croker a run?

Turbo is good enough to play any back 5 position and Staggs centre Turbo wing was a much better option than Turbo centre Cotric/Fergo wing IMO

Yeah, that's why Staggs has been mentioned so heavily. Don't ask us, we haven't had centres for a few years now lol.

Neither has NSW with Wighton and Turbo last year. I would’ve said Latrell and Staggs as the backups. Maybe we should do a Souths and just throw Cam Murray out there?

Upvote: Trade RTS --> Papenhuyzen and play with 16 (no centre)
Downvote: Trade in any centre and cop HTF's 22 but field 17.

Centre options I'm looking at are Harper, Capewell, Best, Lomax (already have the Peach)

Id be tempted by Capewell. He'd probably be determined to have a big game and push his case to hold onto starting spot for next week. Youd hope he scores around 40 at the low and but could go 60+ with a few big runs

Papy a bit of a lottery with so many rested

Averillo ruled out, guess I'm playing 15 this week instead of 16.

Bit more on this. Police prosecutor argued that Scott was handcuffed as officers feared he would run onto the road. Magistrate said is was an "absurd analogy", and that she "genuinely" thought he would've been better off "being hit by a car".

    Quotes:
"At least he would still had the free use of his hands, been upright and conscious and would have gotten an ambulance much more quickly than he does with these police. He wouldn't have been blinded for 20 minutes and wouldn't have been electrocuted while lying on the ground."

"Try to watch the body-cam footage without flinching ... and try to remember you are not watching gratuitous violence off the dark web."

NRL still fined him 15k suspended lol

In all seriousness, it's quite possible.

This was just costs, I'm sure he will sue for damages next. Gonna cost the taxpayer millions by the time it's all said and done.
