Fifita only played over 40 minutes 3 out of 12 games last season, he’s done as a big minute fantasy elite front rower sadly

Re: NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 3 - Closer
What are peoples views on allocating funds across positions.
I threw together a team last night without much thought or planning i might add.
Team seems strangely unbalanced.
J.Brailey
Alvaro, Tolo, Tino
Davey, BMM
DCE, Munster
Bird, Momo
Teddy, Paps Turbo
watson, Lam, Liddle, CHN
1.4m money for remaining 4.
I haven't looked at all at coverage or anything. What are the thoughts on Loading up on Wfb, Halves. Previous years ive loaded up on Hoks and 2rfs.
And yes i see the irony of me picking CHN despite blowing up about people thinking he will be starting.

He was 20 kg over weight and limping through every game. If both of those are resolved, its a totally different scenario.Welshy wrote:Fifita only played over 40 minutes 3 out of 12 games last season, he’s done as a big minute fantasy elite front rower sadly

I wouldn't read too much into Fifita starting in the all-stars game. The Indigenous all-stars have much less depth in front row than the Sharks do.
With Woods, Tolman, Hamlin-Uele, Rudolph around, I am not sure Fifita will get the game time required to pump out big scores, even if his knee has improved. I think he's done as a fantasy force. I'll miss him, its not too long ago I used to captain him regularly.
I remember when he was the premier forward. I would captain him for big 80 scores... He would be on 40 points and run on with 12 minutes left and pop out 8 offloads, 3 tackle busts and finished with 65!! Those were the days

Any quotes in the article or have fox just run the random click bait generator this morning?
Hmmm I may have to make an appointment with my GP (Knight's team doctor Peter McGeoch) to get some inside information

Read before mate... their forward pack is Hunt, Hamlin-Uele, Rudolf, Tolman, Woods, Fifita, then ya got guys like Williams and Talakai spending time in the middle and Magoulias* and then who knows what happens with McInnis.

We had a poster on here connected to the Knights physio staff, not sure if they're still around?
Barry Toohey is usually 100% on Knights news. I'll believe it when he writes it, not Hooper.

None of these guys are close to Fifita, if he is fit, he gets 50+ minutes. The rest get what is left.StormTrooper96 wrote:

As long as you're in that time machine make sure you tell everybody there's going to be a global pandemic in a couple of years.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 3 - Closer
Fifita wasn't 20kg overweight during the season though, he said he blew out to 137 in the off season.
He's obviously fitter this year but I think he said he was going to be about 5kg down on last season?
I'd love to see fifita back at his peak, like the way he plays, won't be in my fantasy team though.

Then how long until he breaks down again? He was immense for years on a fantasy game built on explosion, he’s lost most of it coupled with massive competition. His big minutes are gone mate, I wouldn’t expect more than 45 points average from him, plenty of better optionsmattnz wrote:

He looked 20 kg overweight on the field, was huge. Still pumped out a PPM of 1.19 on 1 leg.my tv broke wrote:Fifita wasn't 20kg overweight during the season though, he said he blew out to 137 in the off season.

Fair enough. I am hoping to avoid guys that have a pretty set-in-stone expiry date unless they are called the Rein Trein

Correction - he is/was 5kg lower than last year at time of interview last week, but aims to lose another 5
"I didn’t eat, I was on a juice diet until the night time. I have dropped 15kg and I still have 5kg to go. I played at 128kg last year but I want to get to 118kg so it is going to a be a bit different."
will probably put 5 back on in all stars camp feasting it up for a week

I can’t see Andrew Fifita getting more than 35-40mins max with that stacked Sharks pack, no thanks I’ll stay clear.

As soon as people start using PPM to justify a player, its a red flag for me.
Lots of points slowly is a better option than fewer points quickly.

Just to clarify, its Ponga Yeo the Mann (user here connected to the Knights junior teams) that is restricted from top squad due to COVID, not Barrry Toohey

This makes Hoy very appealing, if true. He can can even then hang around until Rd 13 at worst.Shady2K wrote:From Foxsports. Makes Hoy a bit more interesting?
PONGA’S EXTENDED LAYOFF
Kalyn Ponga may not return until Round 6.
Young gun Newcastle fullback Kalyn Ponga is unlikely to feature this season until round six at the earliest.
Ponga has started running again after undergoing an off-season shoulder reconstruction but the Queensland Origin whiz kid still has a reasonable size recovery mountain in front of him.
The Knights have also suffered another set back with teenage rookie Bailey Hodgson - the nephew of Raiders captain Josh - re-injuring the patella in his knee.
Hodgson, 19, has been adjusting to life in Newcastle by living with Knights senior player Blake Green and his family.
With Ponga tipped to be unavailable for at least the opening five rounds, Tex Hoy will get first crack at wearing the Knights no.1 jumper.
