Still convinced Lomax wouldn't have kept getting big scores at FB

Hoy is definitely not new Lomax, he has limited shelf life and there's no way he stays in 17 after Ponga returns with 5/8 taken by Green, Mann taking utility spot

If he does end up on bench, probably worse than being out of 17 because then would lose all cash gained.

He wouldn't have. He would have been playing NSW cup

I'm starting with Isaako. Even playing for a team as bad as the Broncos last year he still put up some decent scores at fullback. The risk of those scores in the 20's is there but for the price paid I think he's good value.

multiple.scoregasms wrote:I think the same logic I used on not starting with Haas last season can be applied to Teddy this year

Given that we can't have guns at every position to start the season, there is no difference between having HOK 60 WFB 30 then WFB 60 HOK 30. In my opinion the most important thing for squad balance is making sure you have two decent captain options to go along with under priced players.

Two main concerns if I don't start with Teddy. Taking goal kicking when Tauk is off the field, does Teddy elevate his game and have more stability in his scores? If I don't start with Teddy, when do you trade him in? First upgrade targets are probably going to be guys like Haas, Taumalolo who we expect to drop a bit of cash. That leaves very little cash to grab someone like Teddy before origin

Would mean rolling the dice on some very cheap WFB options, which was much easier when Turbo was fit.
    Agree.

I also like to combine the value of the choices and points potential when I’m struggling to decide, in this scenario

    Example
    HK Cook 64 $856,000 + WFB Isaako 40 (high end) $399,000

    WFB Tedesco 64 $850,000 + HK Brailey 48 $410,000

Cheers for the shoutout Revs cheer

Giving fantasy a miss this year, but keen for the footy to get underway. Looking forward to just following a few teams and players and not worrying about the fantasy implications. Expectations for Tigers and Sharks are low, and Storm will be exciting to watch as usual, so should be a cracker season Laughing

Will be around to partake in the shitposting from the safety of the sidelines still of course Very Happy Hopefully a good fantasy season for you and a couple others, couldn't give a shit about the rest of you lot Laughing

Depends if Brailey is actually part of those options. For me, hes in my team regardless.

The alternative to isaako is some other nuff in the 400k range with, in my opinion, more questionable scoring potential, as well as job security concerns

Think I'd rather roll the dice on Oates/Moylan/Smith/Simonsson/Niu/Laurie rather than splashing the cash for Isaako

WFB seems pretty bad this year below gun tier, so unless I end up with Teddy/Papy/RTS there will be some level of risk

Last year I didn't pick Lomax because I was convinced he'd suck at fullback.

I was right but I couldn't possibly have foreseen him becoming Mr 40+ every week as a pure centre.

Maybe Hoy kills it those opening 4 rounds and I'm made a fool of but I agree that there's not really a big risk of him being the new Lomax because there isn't an obvious position for Hoy to slot into the team outside of fullback.

Yeah was just picking a value of equal price so they matched mate. I’d also back 1/2 of those to beat Isaakos points/price value

Yeah mate, sweet as  Very Happy  Wanted a break last year, but got dragged in last minute and then ended playing BBL too. Damn thing does my head in with TLT, 24 hour cuts, 1 hour cuts for 8 games a week and half of them are teams I hate anyway.

Finals and origin back-to-back reminded me how good it is not to worry about all the fantasy stuff. Regular season might start to bore me without fantasy though, so probably be back next year re-invigorated.

Either way, I'll still be keeping up with the goings-on around here pirat Good luck to the rest of you pricks too Laughing

My initial reaction here was “ I dont agree with this”, but on reflection I’m thinking too much with a draft mentality.

By the end of the season I think there is absolutely more value in having Teddy over say Cook though (assuming 2020 scores).

Teddy actually averaged 68.8 under the 6 again rules in regular season (above 60 mins, which excludes when Sivo ran over him, 66 regular season with it included)

Including finals and Origin (and excluding 20 min game) averages 66 (including Sivo game)

Think I'm gunna start without Cleary. I can see him averaging 70 over the course of the year, but his price will drop from a slump in form at some point (and by slump I mean a run of mid 50s-60s) which would be a good time to upgrade a FOG that I'm planning to start with.

I think it'll be much harder to upgrade to Teddy as there are few mid tier backs that will come even close to Teddy in price.

I don’t hate the idea but that argument doesn’t really hold true

Tedesco far bigger fluctuations in scoring and more likely to have a lower price to grab him at some stage of the season than Cleary whose base is off the charts

If I didn’t have to pick a captain I’d probably go without Cleary

Positionless benches mean you can trade someone like Watson to Teddy when he makes 250-300k. The next week (or the same week) you can downgrade your mid range WFB for a cash cow

Someone talk me into or out of Milford

And it may have already happened but the milf vs brooks as value picks? Brooks looks the safer play but milfs low price and scoring history is juicy
