Not really. Lodge will still have minutes so should end up a slow burn at worst. Also, Haas won't be playing 80 this season.

Hopefully Hoy gets dropped once Ponga is back. But probably is a trade out 4-6 weeks

My opinion but I think Lodge will continue to start when Haas is back. That is how they were training before haas went all acab, but ultimately form over the first month will determine who gets benched.

I say this after not being all that impressed with Lodge in the trials.

Yeah mate not too worried on further review with Lodge.

Interesting to look back at his 2019 stats, and remember what a beast he was that year. avg 157m a game (3 times over 200). Had a shocker of a year in 2020 (for obvious reasons for the entire club) but also plagued with injury. He admitted last week that he should not have kept playing last year with his bung knee.

Still don't know if the game has left him behind. He does look fitter but there wasn't any real impact in the two trials I watched him. Pretty interesting just from a Broncos fan point of view to see how he goes this season.

I think at his price, he is definitely worth the punt. He's capable of big scores.

I agree he seemed off the pace last, and the knee point is interesting. I’m hesitating on him as I can see Haas, Flegler, Asiata, Cardigan and TPJ being preferred in the middle. Maybe Te’o too judging on the chat and his older head.

Add in the fact that he does have the odd brain explosion... I’m leaning toward LAM, koloa, Alvaro, Leinu, Utoik to fill out the cheap middles. Similar upside, different risks.

Yeah, but you are taking a punt on him having both a total reversal in form and opportunity to get decent minutes when Haas is back.

A guy like Faumausili is $100k cheaper, demonstrating form and should get decent minutes.

Would be interesting to study fallen MID guns vs rising MID stars for value. Would expect that the rising stars would easily win out.
    Get guys like:
    - Carrigan
    - Haas
    - Rudolf
    - Hamlin Uele
    vs
    - Brom
    - Merrin

Rising stars seems the much safer strategy.

I reckon he starts when Haas returns. I wouldn't class Lodge in the category of Bromwich and Merrin personally.

If Lodge doesn't work, he'll make some coin and when he peaks would be a good option to cash out if someone pops up. The way it's looking, there may not be enough options to pick and choose. Will probably have Lodge and Faumausuli.

I had him in my side for a little bit but switched him to Aloiai. Then the trials happened and was keen to swap them back.

Anywho the first time in a long long time the warriors have plenty of decent forwards. Even though he’s capable of massive minutes he probably won’t get them.

Really want to run with him, I guess only 24 hours until we are enlightened anyway

I find it hard to see him getting huge minutes to take him to Gun Tier. He'll do well with 50-60min which is really all he needs, but Warriors have a lot of decent forwards now. I find it hard to see how any forward gets more than 55 outside starting hooker

Just wish he would get the mins he should, like alot of players I guess.

Just catching up on the last 3-4 days of posts, still got 2 days to catch up on so forgive me if this has already been covered.
I only have 1 question at this point.
When mattnz introduces one of his customary left field options, and backs it up with mad scientist based stats, why do people bother to argue with him?
    That is all, carry on.
