Isn't that outdated? I thought JT pulled out a couple of weeks ago, and Maranta to as he is injured.

I'm assuming those are squad numbers or something? Surely Fafita and Graham start before James and Grevsmuhl.

Yes - I was taking the piss that Marantra got picked in the first place showing what a joke the selection process is. The only real news is that 18-20 in the Indigenous team have just been announced.

Does anyone care about this game anymore?

I'm one of those who believed it was a racist concept from the beginning in a country that struggles with racism. It's not the best look or way to promote indigenous players in our game. Then ditch it over the 9's which tells you what the NRL thinks of it. Then to try and suppress the racism detractors (me), they implement some convoluted systems to include all teams and countries thus making it nowhere near an all stars team.

Wait ............ the AFL hold an indigenous round, each club being able to promote past and present indigenous players. Clubs ability to represent indigenous culture as pre game and half time entertainment.

That's a shit idea cause some player might pretend to throw a spear at the crowd. Let's promote a concept based on separating the indigenous players from everyone else, that will promote diversity.


I know it's not a popular view, but in short my answer is "NO"

I agree with you, it always seemed an awkward us v them battle which is not the idea you want to promote.

We should have evolved past the state with a need to celebrate a culture just so they feel included. We should be a country that just accepts everyone not give a culture one game or one week a year.

We havent evolved past that state, an example of that is having two separate flags. Take a look at the harbour bridge for example, why do they not fly both flags all year round.

The fact that the idea was spearheaded by the Indigenous side makes me believe that it is a useful concept.

The game is getting past its use-by date because nobody takes it seriously anymore and all the good players give it a miss.

Although the top 17 named for each team above is pretty good quality, its really only the last few reserves where there is a bit of barrel scraping going on.
