Waddell has been on my radar all pre season and I'm now considering going back to him instead of Siliti. I'm basically taking two punts in my side, one is Milford and the other is that last spot. The extra cash getting Waddell does allow a little bit more cash either in the kitty or on position #21 too..

Sitili more for boom/bust scoring and plays in a top side.
Waddell higher workrate but also a rocks/diamonds type of player.

I’ve got the same conundrum with stili and Waddell. One of them is enough as they aren’t going to be your crichtons or matterson. I still have stili on my side given his explosiveness and ability to break tackles and run beautiful lines. I’m still weary on Waddell I do remember his great run a few seasons ago at manly but given their price is so similar, I’ve got my guts on stili to be a 650-750k player this year.

Sitili more for boom/bust scoring potential and plays in a top side. Potential break out year.
Waddell higher workrate but can be a rocks/diamonds type of player and has more pressure on his spot.
Would go for Sitili every time. Job security, role, team strength all in his favour. Was defending in the middle Crichton style in the trial. Should give him a better base this season. Another performance like Waddell had in the trial and he is dropped for sure.

I am on Host + Milf instead of Sitili + Simonsson. The idea of a milf party is keeping me strong but I'm wavering hardcore on Host and I really need forward cover.

Also I read a lot of negatives about Bradley Deitz. I can understand this criticism about him being a one gamer but after watching the trial match, I can see why Barrett loves him so much that told him to quit his job as a teacher. Surely if you are a one gamer, you wouldn’t quit your day job? His wife got made redundant recently so he is backing himself to make it and that alone deserves a spot on my team.

I'm amazed anyone is considering Waddell when you could have Capewell for $70k more! Capewell's lowest score as starting edge was higher than Waddell's highest score last season.

Got a team that I'm happy with... for now (will probably change last minute)

    Turpin
    Lodge, Angus, Watson
    Fifita, Riki
    Cleary (C), Fogarty
    Roberts, Averillo
    Papenhuyzen, Teddy, Laurie

    Brailey, Liddle, Lam, Milford
    Gosiewski, Niu, Utoikamanu, Simonsson

Not the best cover, but it'll do!

Anyone brave enough to play Magoulias after last season? Probably has another breakout game and keeps a spot for the season

    a) $70k is not nothing

    b) They've probably also looked at Capewell's scores from 2019

I like Welch. Purely because he's cheaper, and has more security at starting prop. Bsmith loses his spot in 5 weeks and goes back to 40 points a game off the bench. Welch will score consistent 50-55 And priced at a touch above 40 should make great cash and wont have to be considered trading out until maybe bye rounds/upgrade in the later weeks

Cheers for that mate, i didn’t do my research at all on that one and for some weird reason thought he was starting on the edge. Weird

Surely Fifita comes into the 17 at some point as well for Cronulla

Maybe for Magoulias, maybe for someone else. Unless of course the pre-season fluff about losing weight was meaningless, and he has a totally crocked knww

I think I'm pretty set on all but two spots. Final bench spot & final EMG.

If I go Gosiewski/Croker for the final EMG spot my shortlist (roughly in order of preference) is: Milf, Egan, Host, Townsend

If I go cheaper and get Simmonson (seems overkill with Moylan, Niu EMG & Laurie starting) I can add: Hodgson, Toupinoua, CHT

I'm really warming to Toupinoua, and like CHT on the basis of better HLF cover than Moylan/Avo, plus it's nice to have at least one player from the team I support, which I usually use as a tiebreaker in these scenarios.

Or I can get a fabled 0k team with Milf + Hetherington EMG - a sign?

    Any thoughts?

Magoulis is just as likely to drop off the bench for fifita than he is to play.

In my third flip flop today I am back on both Sitili and Milf.

Lost my Turpin fear in that, if most people him it's no great risk and also just realised it wasn't compulsory to play Angus on the bench when I could have some shithouse Mid coverage in emergencies (wood, trees etc)
