Can't wait for Turpin to score 75 tonight and stick a rude finger at all those that doubted him

For the Knights, first 4 games are against easier teams on paper. 3 at home and one on the Central Coast. I think odds are good enough that he can pump out one decent score before Ponga comes back to give him a decent enough pice rise.
Just 1 spot to go in my team now
Who is the best player available under $400k? (that isn't Liddle, Hoy, Averillo, Bird, Roberts, Laurie, Croker Riki, Lodge, Host, Watson - Holy shit! Milford at $427k is my 7th most expensive player (edit 8th, Lam is a bit more then Milfmeister) )
2RFs get a preference to reduce reliance on Host.
Probably Fui with DPP, but I don't love it.
Simonssen if you need cash and don't mind WFB I know the forum has gone of him but Raiders have a good early draw and apparently he's switched to be outside Williams, who passes, instead of Wighton, who doesn't.

I do have to say he looks a lot fitter than at the start of 2020. He could do well, but I'm sure he'll have some quiet games at some stage
Yeah I think you’re right. I’m hoping his floor is going to be consistently higher than the past couple of seasons.

Anyone with Fuimaono - what are you expecting from him? And why?
I was keen but I pushed too much cash into my 17 to afford him at 18.
My gut feel is that he plays right edge.

Nothing too much - maybe 2 or 3 tries and an 80min role secured for the rest of the year....
Anything more than that is a bonus.

At least his 84 points from last night will help smooth over those potential low scores

Plenty you can do MS. He’s not cheap like a Liddle mate.
At 530k if you don’t think he has #9 or #14 capability in your team, jog that boy on

I'm actually keen on Alvaro for my last spot, but just have no idea what to expect from the Dragons pack. Both for this weekend and ongoing.
Stefano also under consideration, both as promising junior and to give me mex cash to make trades next week.
Fui/Gosi the only 2nd rowers I'd really have but I already have Host, why would I want another copy.

MayorofAlburquerque wrote:Just a few thoughts on Host. He lived up to the plodding reputation but seems like he's been a bit done over in the stats/scoring. The down-dates were disappointing; but 1 MT was a diving attempt to stop Papy in the corner (no points for effort) and he had a Turnover taken away too. Looking for a silver lining, Melbourne attacked Souths right edge so he was less involved in defence. Also, the lopsided first half and heap of errors kept the ball out of play. Souths also look to favour the left edge in attack so there's a good chance he'll find himself in on some attacking plays in the future - he had one decent run towards the end of the game close to the line. A game against Manly offers better prospects next week. These are the things we must tell ourselves to keep down the rage-trade instincts.
To be honest, all the cheap 2RFs apart from Riki are just waiting for Admiral Akbar to scream a warning of some kind. At least Host plays in a decent team.
The Mayor.
He didn't have a run for over 30 minutes at one stage of the game and in that time had about 6 dummy runs. Bloke is in the team to just run dummies clearly.
The fact he lost the forced turnover is a joke considering one of Welch's was when the Bunnies player ran into Hughes and Welch got the forced turnover

Yep, FOMO on Tex too. And to your earlier post, don't like Turpin in my 17 either.
Hadn't even considered running Tex until I saw Reimis Smith's 8 points staring me in the face....

I still think they'll do the player swap (Napa) when Thompson is back in round 5 (or sooner if they are confident in the other middles in the early rounds.)

Might go in the big call thread and say that Fui will outscore his fellow low 300s new lock Connor Watson.
(seriously through, I obviously have him but half expect Watson to be out of the team or on the bench by round 5)

Don’t reach because you should’ve started Croker over NAS
How would you describe this with an avatar

Makes the middles at Bulldogs slightly more attractive if that happens? And by extension Ogden? How do we think he goes. Gets a decent ppm off the bench. Less so the few times he's started.

Des really does think absolutely anyone can play hooker, doesn't he?
Yeah i remember Tolman covering hooker a few times for Ennis.. Not the quickest deliveries...

Not a whole lot of players I like in that price range. Probably because my drafts all had someone like Arrow for 100k more
Hesitant to sit on too much cash so would be gambling on someone like Brooks, Capewell, Tupouinua or even CHT.
Will probably just end up running the start hooker and hope someone like Ryan James/Milford gets a role I wasn't expecting

I love talking about Host as firmly camp Lawrie back in the day...
He has one of the most expensive and important signings for Souths for years on the bench in Arrow to go with the versatile Gun that is Murray.
That prick will be as bit-part as he was for Master Mary in no time.
And if you can’t impress Mary for an edge role...
And... if you have a gut in those tight jersies, there’s no prizes for effort for diving missed tackles when ya man skins you

Fui at 13 is probably the biggest TLT surprise. He's a bit of a tacklebot so I can see the logic, but I don't know why Lawrie isn't in the spot.
If he keeps the spot I can see him doing well, but there are too many question marks for me to pick him in my team atm. give it a couple weeks
