Cade Cust had 111 fantasy points at the weekend, including 3 tries and 2 try assists

Don't have the cash for him I'm afraid. I don't see Fui as the trap that others do, but I can't afford him.bigbruno wrote:
Exactly same mate... just I pose the question, why not Fui before Alvaro?

Reckon Croker - Leniu is a better trade and keep Lodge?
Possibly. Still spooks me that Eisenhuth was sub #1 and Leniu didn't get on the field until 31st min. With Panthers leading comfortably in second half it may have afforded a few more mins rest for the starters.
Leniu does look a goer though.
Still leaves me holding Gosi lol (Verrills in weeks time???)

Gos going to come off bench and score a double for 21 points anyway so no worries kidmy tv broke wrote:

I’ve got 170k in bank but kind of want something better to come along, Croker to a cashie mid and hold Lodge or both out. I like Davey but can probably wait a week

I was lucky to avoid the Lodge, Host, Gosi clusterfu** but have Croker to deal with. Don't have Kelly or Aitken either which would be trades also.
Just my thoughts on reading the last 20-30 pages.
1) I wouldn't be buying a Warriors forward over other options at this stage. Too much depth and with the Egan HIA and Sironen HIA things were muddied.
You have AFB (55 mins), Bunty (25 mins)
JTB (40 mins), LAM (40 mins)
Harris (80 mins),
Katoa, Sironen, BMM sharing 160 mins and Jack Murchie waiting for an opportunity.
If Egan is set for 80 mins at some stage, then Tevaga at (50 mins) starts to take time off all players, probably JTB and LAM given the way the game has sped up.
So Lam is going to be more a 35 minute player in my eyes, and given Tevaga will play far more mins through the middle than fill in at hooker I don't see Sironen defending in the middle on the regular. Both wait and sees for me.
2) Lodge is an obvious trade for me - I would go to Leniu over anyone cheaper and happy to play in 17. If money not an issue then Collins/Ofa a good shout for 55/45 averages.
3) Out of the options to replace Gosi/Lodge/Host in the sub $400 range my top picks in order would be Davey for edge and Leniu for mid.
Feel Fui may still be a trap. Fui/LAM/Koala all a tier down for points per $ spent.

Tough spot though he’s what a 21/22yo 5/8
Some risk taking a talent like that and just slapping a 9 on his back. You wonder has played the position at all, but no hiding playing hooker in the NRL and no easy way in when halves a Foran and DCE
If I were Des I’d be testing the lad under the high ball at training

I think it is the first time I can recall that a coach changed both edge forwards in the first half with what looked to be a set plan.
Siro started in the middle, with Harris playing edge (despite what teamlists say).
27:04 Katoa off, Tevaga on, Siro went to left edge.
33:21 AFB off, BMM on, Harris went to middle, BMM came on and played edge.
The two HIA's (no returns) not long after kind of confuse things beyond that.
It's tough because BSiro could turn out to be a mega cash cow, or a 1 week trap. Not sure if last week was a one off and/or what sort of minutes/role he would have got without the HIA
Annoyingly the try bumped his score enough that if you want him you have to move soon because his price is only going up.

Almost like there’s a difference between fantasy and reality?
I was actually looking at the NSW Cup scores earlier this morning, and checked the fantasy pts too. Starling also got a century. Looks like there’s a few other big minute hookers with big scores in ressies.
If people think there’s value, I can summarize some of the scores from potentially relevant players later.

for a youngster Cust played plenty already mate not like it’s his 3/4th game, maybe Des thinks he’s a pure half and not risking his game at rake? Let him and Schuster learn under DCE/Foran and wait on the pair.GreenMachine wrote:

Personally think Des is waiting on Fainu and just putting a plaster on position until then

Don’t get me wrong. Absolutely love the talent and seen him a bunch. He’s a good mover and I love that Barrett/Freddy/Daley mold of 5/8 but he doesn’t look any hooker to me.
Would say give him a try as a skill (non middle) lock but then he has Jurbo in front of him! Tough time for him to come through but no doubt will get his chance. Croker just hasn’t come on since youth footy where he was superb
Wrong position at wrong time

Exactly this IMO
They are hoping Fainu is back mid year, and if not the threat to Croker is more Lawton.
I think Cust is seen as a half.
Croker doesn’t offer much but that’s the plan. I don’t think his 23 fantasy pts in 80 mins is going to sway Des’s selections

Maybe its just easy for hookers who are half decent to rack up fantasy points in NSW Cup. I certainly hope my club's coach doesn't use that as a factor for determining first grade selection.
Jackson Ford scored 134 last time he played NSW Cup and can't crack his 17 either.

Agree mate
Not like Des has seen his squad in training either purely picking Croker to fuck with fantasy coaches

65 in 41 mins for Ford on the weekend. Reserve grade beast.
