Davey will be near gun level and surprised people a pissing around with Alvaro/Fui with the Dragons being such a shit team. They have depth in Ford/Kaide Ellis etc not to mention Feagai brothers at centre with Bird possibly being moved in to middle. Only takes a few losses and Griffin will make changes, job security a big risk.

Koloamatangi an unknown but should score around 35s. Problem with these guys is that it will only take one bad score to really halt the scoring and you are stuck with 35s for a while in your 17 before any decent money is made.

That was a good post, however not to be a dick but Rabbit did start with Host. Laughing   Saying that, I could be the bigger fool as this was the reason I didn't pick Host.

Koala seems like the player that could excel to the next level.  He's always played on the edge up until Wayne put him in the middle and I honestly feel even though Wayne loves fucking with the minutes, I can see him working towards keeping that edge role long term and playing big minutes.  I'm not entirely sure why Wayne started Host last week though.  Perhaps he gaves him his opportunity and wanted Koala in the middle for Melbourne but I do find it strange that Koala was touted to start on the edge yet Host got the gig.

On the edge in the past, Souths haven't really had a damaging player and Koala could be just what we need.  I mean, Lowe was never really a good signing and was never a fantasy gun, even at the Cowboys.  I loved him back then, but he was solid without being gun level.  Siro was finding his feet and had a good crack with a couple of decent scores, but I think with the middles we do have now, a more damaging player on the edge could strengthen Souths points of attack.  Yes, they will use him as a decoy and go to Latrell, but they still need options, and I think Koala can bring them that and he will slowly become more involved in Souths attack then what Host was last week.

As a souths fan myself I will be bringing Koloamatangi in. Throughout NSW cup he mainly played in the second row and was extremely damaging. He has a huge motor and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty with tackles and doing the shitty runs nobody else wants to do.

I dont think people should be judging the Souths pack based on the Melbourne game. We were 22-0 down when Benji came on and they were hitting our right edge really hard. It wasn't so much of a defensive thing to bring Benji on as much as it was to add some spark in attack. Wayne was quoted saying this in the press conference after the match.

The reason I mention this is because I dont think Benji is going to be playing big minutes every week as I see Souths as a top 4 side and probably putting cricket scores and a lot of the lower teams. I think the trend of souths Second rowers playing at least 60+ minutes will continue and I think Koloa is bound to see some tries. I also think in closer matches Benji will be brought on late in the match as a game breaker.

As for the reason why Bennett chose Host over Koloa I believe that Host is more of a Bennett type of player being that he's safe defensively but offers nothing in attack. He also played really well in the charity shield against a dragons team which never really showed up to the match. Koala held his own against a dominant Melbourne pack and I expect him to keep his spot for the rest of the season as he is a gun in the making and the club rates him very highly.

Just my 2 cents as im hopping on the Koala train.

Leaning towards C at the moment, anyone thoughts?

Ride with me with a. Croker to Davey is definitely the right move. I'm even sacrificing RTS to Peachey for it so I can beef up my centres (have no cover with only Averillo and Roberts).

JTB peaked around $450k last year I think so probably only about $150K.
Simonsson will have a big game sometime and make close to that. Might have to be more patient.

BSmith & Munster to Cleary & Davey?
Probably silly but it’s my easiest path to Cleary without dropping Crichton

Are the main arguments for Leniu over Alvaro the fact he has more ability to dot over for a try and that he has promise to increase his role over the year?

On the Lam front, think its a better idea to keep him as even if he fails to do anything again you've had a good look at him and can still turn him into a promising base priced cow that turns up and pocket the change

Good points Laughing I don't pay much attention to Souths, other than desiring for Murray to play 63 mins at LK every week. Other than that, it seems like too much mid-range depth in the forward pack for me to take the plunge. Got burned by Knight at some point too.

Koala's seemingly been on the cusp for the past couple of seasons, so might be right that he gets a proper opportunity for a few weeks at least.

I ended up voting 1 trade Lodge to Davey.. don't know much about this Leniu guy, but seems popular.

In my opinion I think that Arrow will continue on the bench as impact.
Host got the start in round 1 purely because of team mix with Mago and Knight out. Koloamatangi provided a more like for like replacement on the bench for 1 of those guys. That is the only reason Host got the start and he was a trap.
TBurgess and Tatola will continue to start at prop.

What happens with minutes for Su'a, Koloamatangi, Benji, Arrow, Murray is anyones guess but the advantage for Koloamatangi is that Host isn't in the 17. However, he could still lose minutes to Arrow/Murray.

Oh shoot just realised I have no EDGs outside of Riki and Tupouniua, maybe I should seriously be looking at Davey as an in this week and hoping he’s not Gossie 2.0

Leniu>Alvaro more chance of TB's and tries in attacking team, and better job security.

Dragons still have Ford, Kaide Ellis etc Panthers have no other props after losing Tamou/Tetevano.

Kolo was in my team all pre season until TLT so i'm not sure why I'm not sold now, obviously there's a question over why he didn't start last week.

I had completely forgotten he is a MID, which is what I need this week, does make him tempting. Annoyingly 1k short of straight trade Lodge to Kolo..

While everyone is zigging, who is zagging.

Last year round 1 Yeo showed his hand as to what the year would bring. Believe he was priced around $550k?

    Who are this years players?

    Hudson Young?
    Lindsay Collins?

Everyone is going to be raging come Monday. 4 games in Sydney this weekend with a forecast of pissing down rain from now till Sunday with it easing Sunday. Low scoring games. Teddy wont wear long studs for fear of injury and has a low average against the Tigers, put him in your emergencies and back the Tigers.

I am more than happy to wait on Koloa. This week the Bunnies have a chance to show what they can do against the lower spectrum teams in the Sea Eagles so we will get a chance to see how Koloa is used when Bunnies have the attack. His BE is high enough that we can wait and see if he will be used as a decoy runner, if he will demand the ball, if maybe his tackles will boost his base and warrant a trade in. Even a 50 will only see him go up about 23K.

Will be a game I watch closely as I want to see how he is used. If he shows plenty of intent and manages his way to a 38+ I will think about trading him but anything below a 38 and he will be a kind miss.

EDIT: Similar scenario for Davey in I am happy to wait and grab Leniu and LAM this week.

Leniu as I think he will force Cleary into giving him more minutes and LAM as I can pretty much jump on his back and ride some cash flow.

Either way I like those trades. I already have Leniu and Alvaro but looking at Host to Davey and I think I’m sold. Seems like actually a good player. Even if he only gets 50 minutes this week, he should play well enough to push his claim for 80 minutes in the not too distant future. Worst case scenario he still has a good PPM so would be a slow burn if playing 50 minutes.
Exactly my thinking re Davey mate I see him continuing to build those mins.

I’m willing to take the punt.
