He doesn't have a super low BE, he has 2 scores over 50 in his two appearances in the starting side at Parra but no guarantee Manly use him the same way.

I'm prepared to wait a week.

Plus all reports are that Sydney is a swamp this weekend and Manly are going to be rolled so it would appear his score will be purely tackle based.

Really hope Alvaro gets a shot as starting prop, with Lawrie moving to lock at some point. Should be able to get back to 2018 form hopefully, when he averaged 50 in 45 minutes.

The Bludgers need to dump Croker and Host - I can field 17 by playing Riki on the Edge again and then pick up Koala & Leniu, or I can cover Edge with Davey and rely on Koala's 30 BE for a look.
Like most on here - trying to pick the best value / quickest coin earning sub$400k middle is doing my head in.
Going with Leniu because I like the way the kid plays. Also, it leaves me more $ for a single move of NAS to a Middle or Edge next week.
Davey?? The Siro news kind of works in his favour.
Koala can wait, I want to see Walker feeding him short ball for serious damage rather than the way the Bunnies used Host for lead runner in most plays.

My TU/TD thread is split evenly so want to flesh out my thoughts again on who to bring in.

One trade is definite, Lodge to Leniu. I need a MID with Lodge/Crichton out and he's looking like the best option with attacking upside

Other trade is down to one of the following, Host will be out:

    Davey $369k, 24 BE:
    - Was named starting 2RF before the Sironen injury, but now with Sironen out for at least a month it looks like that starting edge spot is his own with no real threat to take minutes off him
    - In his 80 minute starts last year, he went over 50 points each time. Also scored well in Round 1 off the bench and looked great in trials
    - His BE isn't really low, so could afford to wait a week if I wanted. Would only go up $20-30k if he scored 40-50
    - Benefit of getting him in now is the points (potential) and means I don't have to spend one of next week's trades to get him. So next week can have two open options
    - Though Sydney is pouring this weekend and Manly should get towelled up by Souths, so doubt there's many attacking opportunity for him this weekend at least.
    - Getting Davey means I have to start Utoikamanu in the 17

    Alvaro $316k, 11 BE:
    - Solid PPM scorer off the bench. Probably good for 35 - 40 points on a weekly basis. If he keeps it up then would be up to $100k in rises over the next few weeks
    - Job security is probably a concern if Dragons lose a few games though you'd think he was recruited for a reason and was a great player for Parra in 2018 (won POTY award). Though this could go the other way as well and he gets starting prop at some point maybe
    - Note his Round 1 score included a tackle break (which he very rarely gets) and 1 turnover tackle - so 7 points he won't get consistently. Take them out and he gets 33 points instead for Round 1.
    - Getting Alvaro means I don't have to start Utoikamanu and also store a bit more $$$ in the bank to get Davey next week if he looks like a good buy

For me personally Leniu and Ofa are more pressing tradesand should make more cash than Davey. With the injury news it is making me tempted to bring in Davey over Leniu. But waiting a week to decide which CTR/WFB is a dud and being able to choose between Koloa and Davey is my plan.

Thanks mate. Would be keen on Ofa if I could afford him. Think you’ve talked me down to just bringing in Leniu. I will be dark if lodge is only off 1 week.

    Payten confirms Cotter starts lock

    https://www.cowboys.com.au/news/2021/03/19/his-toughness-is-why-i-brought-him-here-payten/

He kinda says McGuire will play either side of half time and Cotter will play as many mins as they need him to. Then also says he'd expect Mcguire to start pushing for a starting spot in the next month or two..

Something aint right up there. Comments around Lolo as well are a bit strange imo.

Weird Friday afternoon thought but who's everyone's favourite underrated player of the past?? (not fantasy).
Mine of the current playing has to be Dale Finucane, shit he has a big impact on the Storm's forward pack and often overlooked with the big 3 they had.
In the last 20 years (Not old enough to go further back sorry) I'm gonna go with an outside pick and say Michael Luck. He was such a workhorse and never got the accolades he deserved in an at times mediocre Warriors team

Lachlan Burr makes his Cowboys debut as Taumalolo's replacement for the round-two clash with St George Illawarra on Saturday, with Reuben Cotter elevated to the starting side as Burr comes onto the bench.

EDIT: I am all in on this Jensen trade... hope it pays off.

My favourite underrated player is Kenny Bromwich. He is so bloody good and is massive for our team... but I reckon Matt Prior would have to be one of the most underrated players ever.

I don't need to trade to field 17, but end up playing Stefano and looping Niu and Croker. Had spent all week thinking I could hold both trades and wait for Davey but seems like he'll be playing 80 now so why wait?

    Seems like a coin flip?

If I had 3 trades it would be a no brainer

I'm hoping Vaughan has a nice quiet 60 minute game for 55 points. Will be able to trade NAS to him next week with cash reserves.
