These past few weeks are the best I've seen Gagai play for agesRabbits21 wrote:

Ta’affe is not a game manager he’s more in mould of Cody, if Reyno goes we play him.
We lose the brains if Reyno goes and our window closes 2 years early imo.
I would give him 2 years.
If someone has to go well then Gagai for me.

Agreed on Gagai. Been subpar the whole time he has been with us and suddenly in a contract year he is playing like he has a maroon jersey on- he can walk for all I care. The problem is also that we can’t have Reynolds and Walker finishing up the same year, so if Reynolds plays in ‘22, you need him in ‘23 also and Walker gets replaced by Taffe, learns his trade and Illeas replaces Reynolds in turn after. That is obviously ideal, but Blake will be 22 this month, just try telling him he has two years to wait. I think there has to be more to it is what I’m saying. It’s not like Reynolds is underperforming like a Milford. I think it has to be roster pressure causing problems.

I'm playing Alvaro over Stefano today.
Was 26 a bad day at the office or was it closer to his real average. I'll find out today!

Think low end of scale. A lot of tries would have meant less tackles

I'm a bit torn on the whole Reynolds thing. He won South's first title in 43 years and is indeed royalty to the club but in this day and age, the whole loyalty thing unfortunately doesn't mean much anymore. I see it in my workplace all the time and I can understand South's stance on the matter. It's sad that loyalty isn't rewarded anymore but as I said, as time goes on, it means less and less. I do rosters at work and that's tough enough but the roster management with players and balancing a solid team with a salary cap would be extremely difficult. Look at Manly, so much money in a few players and look where they are. South's are just trying to keep everything balanced while looking towards the future. They obviously think more than 1 year is paying overs and we all don't know what's going on behind closed doors. The club obviously have their reasons.
If I were Reynolds, I would take the 1 year but maybe South's could tell him they will give him 2 years if they make the GF this year or something perhaps, I'm not sure. It's a complicated situation and I really can understand both sides.

Not playing Alvaro but I hope last week wasn't a sign of things moving forward.

The Eels is Utoikamanu's ex club so he'll put in a big effort. He's got that boom factor too.

Would be cool having something like a scaled loyalty salary cap exemption e.g. 5% of salary after 3 years is exempt from the cap, and 10% after 5 yearswolfking wrote:I'm a bit torn on the whole Reynolds thing. Good points you make, maybe Ta’affe can play in the 14?

Fantasy taking a back seat today! First game back since well before Christmas for my boys! Absolutely buzzing already, is taking a walk down to the club 5 hours per kick off too early?
